Over 19% Find Yoga To Be the Most-Enjoyed Indoor Winter Activity

For many, winter is a time of festivities, holidays, trips, and quality time with friends and family. However, winter also means having multiple indoor and outdoor activities to do. While some prefer indoor, others prefer various outdoor recreational activities.

Real Research — the online survey app, launched a survey seeking opinions about various winter activities. Specifically, the types of winter sports and recreational activities that society prefers. Here are the results.

• 29.51% say traveling to warmer places is the best way to pass the winter season.

Majority (65.36%) Are Fans of Winter Sports

To start off, the survey asks respondents whether they are fans of winter sports. To this, 65.36% say ‘yes’, whereas 34.64% say ‘no.’ To follow up, the survey asks respondents if it snows where they reside. In reply, 52.70% say ‘yes’, and 47.30% say ‘no’.

Furthermore, the respondents were also asked their opinions on whether they think winter sports and activities exist only in countries where snow is regular and heavy. To which, 44.35% ‘highly agree’ and 33.45% ‘somewhat agree’.

Meanwhile, 11.24% ‘somewhat disagree’ that winter sports exist only in countries with heavy and regular snowfall. Lastly, 10.96%, ‘highly disagree’.

Ice Hockey Is the Most-Enjoyed Winter Sports and Activities

The survey then proceeded to ask what kinds of winter sports and activities respondents enjoy playing the most. To this, the majority (20.08%) say ‘Ice Hockey’ and 19.23% say ‘Figure skating/ Ice Skating’. Further, 14.71% say ‘Skiing’ while 8.12% say ‘snowboarding’. Lastly, Hiking (4.78%), Mountain Biking (4.53%), and Boating (1.50%). Also, 13.33% do not enjoy playing winter sports.

Further on, respondents were also asked what winter sport respondents enjoy watching the most. To this, 23.06% say ‘Figure skating/Ice Skating’,  19.45% chose ‘Ice Hockey’, and 13.44% say ‘Skiing’. Additionally, 9.35% say ‘Snowboarding’, 5.84% ‘Mountain Biking’, and 4.26% ‘Hiking’. However, 10.80% do not enjoy watching sports.

Next, the survey asked which country has the best ski resorts. To which, the majority (25.52%) suggest Finland. The rest rank as follows 14.45% France, 8.43% Georgia, 5.29% Andorra, and 5.26% Russia. Moreover, 4.80% say Slovakia, 4.43% say the USA, and 3.22% chose Kazakhstan.

Respondents Reveal Most-Enjoyed Indoor Winter Activities

The survey then asked what kinds of indoor winter activities respondents enjoy doing the most. To this, 19.98% say ‘yoga’ and 16.41% say ‘cooking’. Meanwhile, 13.20% enjoy working out and 11% enjoy reading. Moreover, 6.22% play video games while 4.36% enjoy arts and crafts, and 4.32% sew/knit. However, 7.33% prefer outdoor activities.

Following this, the survey asked which outdoor activity do respondents enjoy the most. Here, 20.81% say ‘building a snowman’ while 17.11% enjoy winter shopping, and 13.74% enjoy making bonfires. Furthermore, 7.37% say ‘Ice Fishing’ and 5.55% say ‘Hiking’. However, 8.60% prefer indoor recreational activities.

To conclude, the survey finally asks what the best way is to pass the winter season. To this, the majority (29.51%) say ‘traveling to warmer places’, 23.20% suggest staying indoors, and 19.39% say to plan outdoor activities.
