As Arsenal gears up for the first quarter-finals since 2009-10, the club topped their group upon returning to the competition after a six-year absence. The next game against Porto has many at the edge of their seats with sky-high expectations.
Manager Mikel Arteta said in a recent press conference,
We don’t have the experience, that’s the reality – 95% of these players haven’t played this competition, they haven’t played the last 16…
“I haven’t [managed at this stage]. But they have so much energy and enthusiasm to play well and that’s our desire and how we’re going to play the game…” Arteta added.
As far as past records go, Arsenal has shown more victories against Portuguese football club Porto, winning at least 3 games in the past, compared to just 2 for the latter.
