The Trump-Stormy Daniels scandal refers to the alleged affair between Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, and Stephanie Clifford, an adult film actress also known by the name “Stormy Daniels.”

The alleged affair reportedly occurred in 2006 and came to light in 2018 when the Wall Street Journal published a story about a $130,000 payment made by Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, to Daniels shortly before the 2016 presidential election.

The payment was reportedly made in exchange for Daniels signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) about the alleged affair; Trump denied the affair but later admitted that he had reimbursed Cohen for the payment to Daniels. The scandal has been the subject of numerous legal battles, with Clifford seeking to be released from the NDA and to be able to speak publicly about the alleged affair.
