Who is your favorite character? We hope it’s not Larry.
The Simpsons have decided to shake things up by killing off a longstanding character, and boy, did it leave us stunned.
The Shocking Departure
So, who’s the unlucky Springfield resident who got the boot?
It’s none other than Larry the Barfly (aka Larry Dalrymple). The Simpsons killed off one of its characters after 34 years in the season 35 episode “Cremains of the Day,” leaving fans shocked.
The 42-year-old drunk has had a spot at Moe’s since season one, where he appeared in Homer’s Odyssey in January 1990.
Fans from all corners took to social media to express their shock, sadness, and outrage over Larry’s departure.
Seriously, even Twitter hasn’t seen this much chaos since… well, probably since Homer tried to join the Stonecutters.
So, what’s next for The Simpsons? Only time will tell.
However, resilient Simpsons fans need to take a breather from mourning and do some fun (and slightly therapeutic) activities.
And remember, no matter what life throws our way, we’ll always have Springfield!
