The past 6 years have been exceptionally turbulent for the UK politically. There were up to 3 prime ministers, with Boris Johnson, the most recent one. Johnson was forced to resign on July 7, 2022, after senior government members turned against him and urged him to step down following a series of scandals.

The result was a void for a prime minister, which the country had to elect sooner to curb and help resolve the crippling energy issues, worsening by the day. The election for the new minister was held, and the rivalries came down to two fierce candidates; Elizabeth Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak.

Both were promising candidates with aspirations and visions for the UK. Eventually, the elections came around, and Liz Truss won, making her the third female prime minister of the UK. During her leadership campaigns, Liz pledged that she would aspire to improve multiple aspects of the economy in the UK. Her promises included solutions to the energy crisis, reduced cost of living, several tax cuts to boost business-led growth, and improved healthcare.

Liz Truss, however, is not without prior background in Politics. She has been a member of the parliament since 2010, has served as foreign minister, and held several cabinet offices under former prime ministers David Cameron, Theresa May, and Boris Johnson.

Her victory has raised questions about her ability to uphold her promises during the rallies. Thus, Real Research launched a survey seeking public opinion on UK’s new prime minister.
