Natural disasters are hazards of natural causes that can significantly harm a community. These disasters can cause loss of life or property damage while leaving economic damage in their wake. Examples of natural hazards include avalanches, floods, earthquakes, heat waves, hurricanes, wildfires, typhoons, tornadoes, etc.

Similarly, man-made disasters comprise hazards of technological or human origin. Just like natural disasters, man-made disasters can cause damage to a community, result in loss of life and property, and can leave behind huge economic damage. In the year 2022, the world was met with plenty of natural disasters. These disasters cost billions of dollars in damage and significantly affect the communities involved in them.

These include, but are not limited to: the Russian invasion of Ukraine; the coups in Sri Lanka and Myanmar; the political crisis in Argentina, and so on.
