Survey on Playboy To Build a ‘MetaMansion’ in the Metaverse

Playboy’s new leadership over the past four years has focused a lot on expanding its brand image. The current interaction of the company has focused mostly on utilizing the iconic brand logo, which CEO Ben Kohn claims to be alongside Nike and Apple in terms of fame. “When you think about what this brand represents, from a marketing perspective, from an awareness perspective, we pretty much have 100% awareness everywhere in the world,” he said.

Among these initiatives, Playboy has mainly been venturing into the Web3 space. The company aims to establish itself through NFT collections, metaverse experiences, and a social media creator platform that will rival OnlyFans called ‘Centerfold’. Additionally, Playboy has thrown parties in the metaverse through Decentraland, one of the top metaverses.

Despite throwing parties in the metaverse, Playboy had yet to choose a site for its mansion until now. The Playboy MetaMansion will officially be in The Sandbox and will feature mini-games, social mixers, programmed events, and ongoing digital collectible releases that take from Playboy’s almost 70-year backlog of publishing.

Playboy CEO Ben Kohn shared about the mansion, “I look at [the mansion] coming back first in the metaverse because I think we can reach a global audience through that. It will be part of our membership plan (…) and then I can see a world down the road where we have physical mansions as well.”
