On September 1, Starbucks announced that Laxman Narasimhan will become the company’s next chief executive officer (CEO) and a member of the Starbucks Board of Directors in October this year. Laxman Narasimhan, born on April 15, 1967, is an Indian-American business executive who was a chief commercial officer (CCO) of PepsiCo and CEO of Reckitt. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering, University of Pune, India.

In detail, Narasimhan will join Starbucks as an upcoming CEO on October 1 after relocating from his residence in London to the Seattle area and will work closely with Howard Schultz, the interim CEO, before accepting the CEO role and joining the Board on April 1, 2023.

During Narasimhan’s training period, he will be fully immersed in the company, spending time with Schultz, the management team, partners, and customers, and gaining an in-depth exploration of the brand and its culture. Moreover, Schultz will remain as the interim CEO during Narasimhan’s transition period.
