In lieu of the pandemic, tourism is one of the industries that suffered most in terms of financial losses. Specifically, most countries have placed various travel regulations since the start of the pandemic. In fact, some countries still have their borders closed as a way to protect their citizens. Sadly, this has caused a reduction in global flights, employment, and paychecks.

More so, those working in the tourism industry have no certainty if they will wake up employed tomorrow. Even more, new variants are still being discovered in various countries. Thus, the hope of the tourism industry facing a boom once more has been shuttered for many. To add on, countries dependent on tourism are also facing difficulties in GDP growth.
