Google has announced that it recently plans to “clearly label” clinics and facilities providing abortion care and services. This comes months after the Supreme Court ruling on abortion laws in the US.

In the past months, debates about abortion and abortion laws have been set in various countries. Many express mixed opinions about abortion and abortion laws, especially in the US. These raised concerns come after many states in the US made abortions illegal, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, etc.

Overall, this brought on a considerable backlash, with an outraged public protesting against the Supreme Court decision. However, despite the said rulings banning or barring abortions in several states, Google has recently announced its plans to label clinics and facilities that offer abortion care services on Google Maps. For instance, if one has to search “abortion clinics near me,” results on Google Maps would show the nearest facilities with the same.

Earlier, the search giant was accused of ‘leading women astray’ with search results where, for example, instead of showing results for ‘abortion care,’ it would show results for “crisis pregnancy centers” that are often run by anti-abortion groups. Now, the tech giant says it is working towards transparency.

As many would have their opinions like they did during the Supreme Court Abortion Ruilings, they would also have their mixed opinions about the latest development by the search giant. Thus, Real Research launched a survey on Google Maps and Search to label clinics providing abortion care.
