Parenting can be very tricky. Most parents would take the conventional approach of raising their kids as they see it fits society in general. Most likely, these parents were taught as children that blue is for boys and pink is for girls. Society has conditioned us on what is acceptable and what is not based on our gender. Nonetheless, we see today’s generations mentally evolving as the world moves forward.

The moment a parent announces that they are expecting a child, the gender of that child is a topic of conversation. Friends and family will use the baby’s gender to decide what color onesies to buy, what toys to gift, and what color dye to use for the gender reveal party cake. All these have been agreed upon before the baby is born.

To avoid limiting children’s growth and interests, some parents are leaning toward an approach to raising kids referred to as “Gender Creative Parenting.” Also known as gender-neutral parenting, this parenting style would be raising a child without preconceived gender norms. It focuses more on the child’s traits and interests instead of blindly following societal expectations. It grants the child full autonomy to explore gender freely, with no conventional regard for labels like “boy” or “girl.” Gender-creative parenting is based on the principle that a child’s genitals should not influence their activities, actions, or appearance. In other words, it is a style of parenting that does not change just because the gender of the child is different.

Through this, however, we can expect questions to arise like what effect will gender-neutral parenting have on children?

Like any parenting style, gender-creative parenting has its advantages and disadvantages. It has become a significant movement, and for this, Real Research launched a survey to gather opinions about raising a child outside of typical gender roles.

Hence, hurry and answer the survey on gender creative parenting on the Real Research app from October 10, 2022. After that, you will receive 30 TNCs as a reward.
