Survey on Elon Musk Reinstating Former US President Donald Trump’s Twitter Account

On October 27, following months of hesitations, attempted reneging, and 11th-hour negotiations, the all-father of space rockets and electric vehicles, Elon Musk, closed a $44 billion deal on the acquisition of Twitter. Last Saturday, Musk launched a poll to decide on Trump’s reinstatement. The poll won by a 3.6% slight difference, with 51.8% saying yes and 48.2% saying otherwise. Although Trump received an appeal, he showed no interest. During a meeting, Trump said that he would not return to Twitter if reinstated but instead would be sticking to his own platform —Truth Social.

Recalling back when Trump got banned, he actively posted Tweets that directly violated Twitter’s terms and conditions. One video he shared said that children were “almost immune” from COVID-19.

Additionally, another Tweet said:

The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!

According to Twitter, this was mainly targeted at Trump supporters only; others may get treated the opposite.

In response, Twitter said, “After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”
