Almost Everyone Is Following the English Premier League

The survey results show that almost all respondents watch the English Premier League. In detail, 83.03% said they follow the English Premier League. Meanwhile, the minority of 16.97% are not following the games.

Notably, 45.19% of the respondents support Chelsea F.C. Following that, 14.88%, 11.69%, 8.58%, 6%, and 5.07% support Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham football clubs respectively.

68.86% Know About Abramovich’s Decision to Sell Chelsea

After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Roman Abramovich, under threat of the UK’s sanctions, decided to sell Chelsea. Real Research survey app next asks respondents if they are aware of this situation. In reply, 68.86% say they are aware and 31.14% are not.

Accordingly, respondents reveal their satisfaction level with Roman’s decision. On this, almost 89% claim to be satisfied while only 11.18% are not satisfied with Abramovich’s decision. In response, the majority (85.75%) say they find this decision to be satisfying as it is to support Russia sanctions.

Following that, 9.97% claim they don’t like Abramovich who is close to Russia’s President — Vladimir Putin. Meanwhile, 2.18% believe that Chelsea needs an owner who invests more in the club than Abramovich. Lastly, 1.87% think that Roman intervened too much in the operation of the game, which had the opposite effect.

The Issues Around Chelsea Prevent It From Focusing on Their Current League Games

In contrast, there are those who do not agree with the decision to sell the club. In fact, up to 48.79% believe that all issues are preventing Chelsea from focusing on their current league. Following that, 22.52% think that during Abramovich’s reign, Chelsea has grown into a perennial European and world power in club football.

Additionally, 11.16% and 9.36% believe that Roman has a great affection towards Chelsea and no one will invest more in this club than him. Also, 7.62% say the club has collected 18 major trophies during Abramovich’s ownership, including 2 Champions League titles.

Next, to the question of ‘who will buy Chelsea?’ the majority (almost 40%) believe it can be Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss. Besides, 12.30%, 8.21%, 7.45%, 4.08%, and 3.82% think that it can be UFC fighter Conor McGregor, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, Saudi Consortium, Fanatics owner Michael Rubin, or Turkish billionaire Muhsin Bayrak respectively.

65.31% Believe That Selling the Club Will Affect the Current Premier League Title Race

Next, respondents answer if they think the situation around Chelsea will affect the current Premier League title race. The majority (65.31%) say ‘yes, selling the club will affect the current league game’. At the same time, 18.99% say ‘no, it has nothing to do with the current league game’ and 15.71% say ‘no, Manchester City or Liverpool will win the Premier League title race anyway’.

Lastly, the Real Research survey app asks if respondents think the decision to sell Chelsea due to political issues is fair. Here, 40.62% replied ‘most definitely, while 24.99%, 14.95%, 7.62%, and 11.81% choose ‘neutral’, ‘definitely’, ‘not so fair’, and ‘not at all’ respectively.

To sum up, it’s worth noting that Abramovich’s Chelsea have won five Premier League titles, five National Cups, three League Cups, and two FA Super Cups. Chelsea has won the Champions League and Europa League twice. The club also won one UEFA Super Cup and won the Club World Cup the day before.
