The gaming industry has grown rapidly along with technology. One of the biggest following within the sector is MMORPG. These Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG) have a huge global following. While MMORPG is found on all platforms, MMORPG PC games arguably have a higher following.

For instance, games such as Dekaron, the well-known dark fantasy MMORPG, have been around since 2004. In particular, Dekaron is a power player in comparison to most dark fantasy games and RPG games on PC. Now Dekaron online is hoping to rally its fans once again. Thus, Real Research held a survey to see gamer preference within MMORPG PC games as well as to garner global awareness of Dekaron Online.

Respondents Reveal: 47.54% Enjoy Gaming

According to Real Research’s survey results, 18.70% play games for less than 30 minutes per week, while 15.76% play for more than 6 hours. On further questioning the respondents, 30.06% reveal that they play mobile games. Likewise, 22.01% said PC games and 15.83% chose console games. In detail, 31.12% said they play PC games for more than 1 hour per week.

On the topic of choosing PC games to play, respondents picked game genre as the most (22.39%) important factor. This was followed by graphics (14.22%), worldview (11.82%), operations/interface (11.73%), and in-game purchase (11.92%). The rest chose others.

To highlight, almost half (48.90%) of the respondents are aware of Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG). To press on, the survey asked if respondents knew of MMORPG games like Lineage, World of Warcraft, and Dekaron. On this, 45.38% said ‘Yes’.

Respondents Share What Matters Most In Gaming

Next, Real Research asked respondents a series of questions centering on specific gaming elements. On this, they chose on what scale they prioritized their gaming preferences.

Firstly we asked if they prefer a game with many competitive elements against other players. Results say ‘strongly agree’ (21.73%), ‘agree’ (20.22%), and ‘neutral’ (21.57%). In contrast, 16.48% said they disagree and 1.28% chose ‘strongly disagree’. The rest either do not play games or are unfamiliar with RPG games.

Secondly, we asked if they tend to consider graphics as important when selecting a genre. Results say ‘strongly agree’ (18.87%), ‘agree’ (17.78%), and ‘neutral’ (16.65%). In contrast, 12.10% said they disagree and 11.38% chose ‘strongly disagree’. The rest either do not play games or are unfamiliar with RPG games.

Thirdly, we asked if they also like games with a dark worldview. Results say ‘strongly agree’ (17.16%), ‘agree’ (16.24%), and ‘neutral’ (17.51%). In contrast, 13.51% said they disagree and 12.10% chose ‘strongly disagree’. The rest either do not play games or are unfamiliar with RPG games.

Fourthly, we asked if they prefer to play RPGs on PC over smartphones. Results say ‘strongly agree’ (17.78%), ‘agree’ (16.64%), and ‘neutral’ (16.66%). In contrast, 12.36% said they disagree and 12.40% chose ‘strongly disagree’. The rest either do not play games or are unfamiliar with RPG games.

Next, we asked if they think that the eras of playing RPGs on PC are over. Results say ‘strongly agree’ (16.57%), ‘agree’ (15.36%), and ‘neutral’ (18.17%). In contrast, 13.93% said they disagree and 12.46% chose ‘strongly disagree’. The rest either do not play games or are unfamiliar with RPG games.

Lastly, we asked if they prefer MMORPGs over action RPGs. Results say ‘strongly agree’ (17.32%), ‘agree’ (16.18%), and ‘neutral’ (18.15%). In contrast, 12.53% said they disagree and 11.86% chose ‘strongly disagree’. The rest either do not play games or are unfamiliar with RPG games.

Finally, we asked if they feel it is necessary to adopt auto-play on RPG games on PC like with mobile games. Results say ‘strongly agree’ (17.99%), ‘agree’ (17.54%), and ‘neutral’ (18.50%). In contrast, 13.71% said they disagree and 13.11% chose ‘strongly disagree’. The rest either do not play games or are unfamiliar with RPG games.

Overall 17.09% Prefer prefer MMORPG PC games

In particular, the survey goes on to ask if respondents are aware of an online MMORPG PC game known as Dekaron. On this, 42.12% said ‘Yes’. In addition, the survey asked if the respondents had ever come across ads pertaining to Dekaron Online. Here, 42.31% of the respondents chose ‘Yes’.

To note, Dekaron M, the mobile MMORPG adaptation of Dekaron Online, came out in April. It is set in dark fantasy and is slowly gaining a lot of popularity. Thus, the survey asks if respondents would be willing to play the game. A resounding 42.55% said ‘Yes’.

To conclude, the survey asks those who said ‘No’ why they wouldn’t be interested in playing Dekaron M. Specifically, 28.51% said that they simply don’t play any games. Meanwhile, 16.88% said that the game seems complicated and difficult. On the other hand, 17.43% say RPG games are simply not their preferred type of gaming.
