After 17 years, the Obi-Wan Kenobi Series made its Disney+ premiere with Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christiansen reprising their roles as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, respectively. It is finally giving answers to the Jedi’s unknown story between the events of Revenge of the Sith (2005) and A New Hope (1977). Moreover, it was set 10 years after Obi-Wan Kenobi faced the darkest truth about Anakin Skywalker, his best friend and Jedi apprentice, who turned to the dark side as an evil Sith, later known as Lord Darth Vader.

With the first few episodes of the said limited series already aired, fans all over the world as part of our culture these days, are sharing memes and their reactions to every aspect. Thus, Real Research launched a survey to see the public’s opinion on Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christiansen reprising their roles as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker after almost 20 years.

The Majority of Respondents Has Seen a Star Wars Movie

The survey starts by asking respondents whether they have watched any Star Wars movies. 64.99% watched every episode of the franchise and  22.71% watched some. While 8.63% haven’t and 3.67% have no interest in watching any. Next, the survey asks about which Star Wars Trilogy respondents prefer. In reply, 62.56% chose the Original Trilogy (1977-1983), followed by Prequel Trilogy (1999-2005) and Sequel Trilogy (2015-2019) with 19.43% and 18.01%, respectively.

The Prequel Trilogy As The Worst Era for Star Wars

The survey also asks if respondents have seen the Prequel Trilogy of Star Wars. A majority (81.50%) of them say ‘Yes’, and only 18.50% say ‘No’. Moreover, the survey asks which Prequel Trilogy movie is their favorite. In reply, 67.11% choose Episode I: The Phantom Menace, 16.94% choose Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and 10.52% choose Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. However, 5.43% are not a fan of the Prequel Trilogy.

Subsequently, the survey asks about their feelings toward the Prequel Trilogy being considered the bad era for Star Wars. In response, 61.12% strongly agree and 12.13% somewhat agree. In contrast, 3.59% strongly disagree and 4.74% somewhat disagree. Whereas, 18.42% remains neutral.

Furthermore, the survey asks which Disney+ Star Wars Series respondents have seen. 55.95% watched The Mandalorian (2019), 12.86% watched The Bad Batch (2021), and 12.34% watched Visions (2021). Meanwhile, 6.09% watched Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) and 5.64% watched The Book of Boba Fett (2021). While 7.12% say they haven’t watched any from the mentioned series.

Similarly, the survey asks the respondents if they have heard of the Obi-Wan Kenobi Series.  Most (80.63%) choose ‘Yes’ and 19.37% choose ‘No’. Given that, the survey asks about respondents’ reaction to reprising the roles of Hayden Christiansen as Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader and Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi after 20 years.

Regarding Obi-Wan, 55.33% were very satisfied and 15.75% were satisfied. Whereas, 5.15% were very unsatisfied and 5.05% were unsatisfied. While 18.73% were left neutral. As for Anakin, 54.08% were very satisfied and 16.43% were satisfied. Although, 4.96% were very unsatisfied and 5.33% were unsatisfied. And the rest (19.20%) were neutral.

To conclude, with some of the episodes released, more than half of the respondents are already satisfied with the reprising of the roles of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christiansen in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Series.
