The retail and fashion industry has made their foray into the Metaverse. Big brands are taking notice, such as Dolce & Gabbana, Elie Saab, Tommy Hilfiger, and more. Metaverse technology is a rising industry, especially in 2022, and has the potential to be even bigger in the future alongside crypto. The notion of being able to shop with metaverse has stirred curiosity and excitement among the public.
Thus, Real Research launched a survey seeking public opinion on shopping with Metaverse. The survey aims to find out how Metaverse technology affects the shopping habits of the public.

70.95% of Respondents Are Interested in The Metaverse
The survey began by asking respondents whether they were familiar with the term ‘Metaverse’. 70.95% said ‘Yes’, and that they were interested. Meanwhile, 13.13% said ‘Yes’, but they don’t understand it. Finally, 15.91% said ‘No’, they were unaware.
The survey then asked respondents how much impact they think the metaverse would have in daily life. 53.09% said, “there will be extreme change”. Meanwhile, 18.88% said “there will be some changes. Finally, 15.07% answered, “there will be no change.”
The survey asked respondents which sector they think the metaverse would benefit the most. 40.85% responded with ‘retail’. Meanwhile, 13.42% responded with ‘IT’. Finally, 11,91% responded with ‘Fashion’.
51.97% Are Comfortable Shopping With Metaverse
The survey asked respondents whether they think retail and fashion companies entering the metaverse is a good idea. 66.64% responded with ‘Yes’ because ‘stores can reach a wider audience’. Meanwhile, 10.63% responded with ‘Yes’ because ‘stores can showcase their products much better’. Finally, 7.54% responded with another ‘Yes’ because ‘customers can test products virtually’.
The survey asked respondents whether they were comfortable shopping in the metaverse. 51.97% responded with “Yes”, they’re willing to buy their essentials in the metaverse. Meanwhile, 14.77% responded that they would want to test out its security and efficiency first. Finally, 12.31% said “no”, they prefer using a physical store.
The survey followed up by asking which type of items respondents would prefer to buy through the metaverse. 46.87% responded with “clothes”, 11.12% with “shoes”, and 10.35% with “electronics.
57.28% Believe The Metaverse Will Revolutionize The Shopping Experience
The survey asked respondents if they think the metaverse will be the future of shopping. 57.28% responded with “Yes”, the metaverse will completely change the shopping experience. Meanwhile, 18.83% responded with “Yes”, and it will have a huge part but with restrictions. Finally, 14.04% responded “No”, and that it will not beat physical stores.
Finally, the survey asked respondents what they wanted from the metaverse besides shopping. 51.37% responded with “Travel the world virtually”. Meanwhile, 18.22% responded with “Play games.” Finally, 11.11% responded with “Virtual meetups across the world”.
