Spring is one of the 4 major seasons of the year. Spring is marked by the budding of trees and flowers, lush greenery, and bright sunshine coupled with a light breeze. For some specific groups in our society, Spring also brings the onset of various Spring holidays and festivals such as Easter, St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Passover, etc.

As such, people have multiple activities they look forward to in Spring. Thus, Real Research — the online survey application, launched a survey on things about Spring. To specify, the survey aims to find public opinions and preferences on the activities to do in Spring, the numerous Spring festivals, and more. Here are the results.

Highlights:

  • 55.22% feel happy on hearing the word ‘Spring’
  • 46.73% say their favorite seafood in Spring is Salmon
  • 48.97% celebrate Easter during Spring

The Majority Feel ‘Happy’ on Hearing the Word ‘Spring’

The survey starts by questioning respondents how they feel on hearing the word ‘Spring’, to which, a majority of 55.22% feel happy. Moreover, 11.27% feel fresh, 8.39% feel bright, 4.67% feel warm, and 3.76% feel romantic. To add on, a further 3.48% feel a fluttering feeling on hearing ‘Spring’ while 3.20% feel sweet.

Next, the survey asked respondents when they most feel that Spring has arrived. In response, 52.56% say ‘when fields are green’ and 15.96% say ‘when flowers are in full bloom’. Furthermore, 7.49% say ‘when it gets warmer’ while 6.92% say ‘when birds start chirping’. To add, 3.43% say ‘upon smelling freshly cut grass’ and 3.42% say ‘when kids run around playing in the park/playground’.

Next, the survey questions respondents about the best Spring activities to do. Here, a majority of 41.38% say ‘taking a stroll’ whereas 16.73% say ‘go on a picnic’. Meanwhile, 11% enjoy flower viewing, while 8.32% drive around, and 7.76% like to travel during Spring. Lastly, 3.68% prefer to climb a mountain and 3% would like to play outdoor sports.

The Majority Associate the Color Yellow With Spring

Further on, the survey asks respondents what color they associate with Spring. All 45.21% associate Spring with the color Yellow. Meanwhile, 18.20% feel Green reminds them of Spring and 12.21% chose the color Pink. Moreover, 7.37% chose Beige and 6.84% chose Orange. Lastly, 3.65% believe Mint relates to Spring.

Next, the survey asks about respondents’ favorite fish or seafood in Spring. All 46.73% like Salmon, while 13.69% like Tuna. Additionally, 6.64% chose Alaska Pollock, 6.52% chose Trout, and 6.33% chose Crab. Lastly, 5.67% chose Cod and 5% chose Crayfish.

Following after, the survey asks what word comes to respondents’ minds when they think of Spring. In response, 39.74% think ‘Sprout’, 26.22% think ‘Flowers’, 6.73% think ‘Start’, and 6.48% think ‘Getaways’. A further 4.85% think ‘Bumblebee’ and 2.96% think ‘Vitality’.

Respondents’ Favorite Spring Flowers

The survey asks what respondents’ favorite Spring flowers are. The majority (40.78%) like Cherry Blossoms, 17.29% like Tulips, and 14.94% like Lilies. In addition, 6.86% chose Peonies, 5.09% chose Daffodils, and 3.69% chose Bluebells.

Further on, the survey respondents reveal which Spring holiday they usually celebrate. To highlight, 48.97% celebrate Easter, 10.45% celebrate Passover, and 8.76% celebrate Parents’ Day/Mother’s Day. Moreover, 6.14% celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and 6.09% celebrate April Fool’s Day. However, 9.58% do not celebrate any Spring holidays.

To conclude, the survey asks which Spring festivals around the world respondents would like to attend the most. To this, 44.43% say South Korea’s Jinhae Gunhangje Cherry Blossom Festival. A further 16.84% chose the USA’s White House Easter Egg Roll and 14.75% chose India’s Holi (the festival of colors). Lastly, 7.58% wish to attend Thailand’s Songkran Water Festival. Lastly, 9.95% feel there is no Spring festival they would like to attend.
