A 2021 Communist Youth League survey of some 2,900 unmarried urban young people found that 44% of women do not plan to marry. Real Research, an online survey app, revealed that 74.75% of respondents were aware that 44% of women are choosing to be single.

Women Are Choosing To Be Single

Single women are increasingly prioritizing their careers. Since 2010, female executives have surged in all developed regions, notably doubling in Asia, according to a Morgan Stanley report. 60.18% of the respondents think marriage hinders career progression.

Additionally, the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 1980 revealed that women earned 64 cents for every dollar men made. By September 2019, the gap had narrowed to 77-85 cents for every dollar. In light of this, 48.98% of respondents think women should earn the same as men.

A survey on women choosing to be single revealed that 54.53% of the respondents think that marriage takes away the independence that a single woman enjoys.

Moreover, in some countries, like Japan and Korea, young people are increasingly staying single, resulting in plummeting birth rates. A survey on women choosing to be single revealed that 47.15% of respondents are somewhat concerned and 37.53% are extremely concerned about this.
