Google introduced the ‘Help Me Write’ feature in Gmail to assist users in composing high-quality email content. The online survey app Real Research conducted a survey on Gmail’s ‘Help Me Write’ feature, and it revealed that 68.52% of the respondents have heard of this feature and 31.48% haven’t.

Gmail’s ‘Help Me Write’ Feature
Gmail’s ‘Help Me Write’ feature is a generative AI-based writing assistant that can craft professional emails with single-liner text prompts. 52.44% of the respondents said they were not confident in the feature’s ability to generate professional email content, and 41.84% were somewhat confident. 5.7% said they weren’t confident at all.
In addition, when questioned about how often they expect to use Gmail’s ‘Help Me Write’ feature, 35.78% of the respondents said sometimes, 35.38% said rarely, and 14.86% said never. 13.98% said they would always use the feature.
Fine-Tuned for Writing Emails
Gmail’s feature works in the same way as ChatGPT but is fine-tuned for writing emails inside the Gmail application. 58.56% said Gmail’s feature is highly convenient for composing emails within the Gmail application compared to using ChatGPT separately, and 36.46% said it is somewhat convenient. 4.98% said it was not convenient at all.
Benefits of Gmails ‘Help Me Write’ Features
74.98% believe Gmail’s ‘Help Me Write’ feature would be beneficial in saving time when composing emails, and 25.02% do not think so.
‘Help Me Write’ produces grammatically precise text with options to adjust the tone and length. 50.2% said that they were strongly satisfied with these features, and 44.5% said they were somewhat satisfied. 5.3% said they were not satisfied at all.
Furthermore, ‘Help Me Write’ is currently in beta testing, and a user needs to sign up for Google Workspace Labs and wait for approval to be able to use the feature. 49.46% were strongly satisfied with this process, and 41.5% said they were somewhat satisfied. 9.04% said they were not satisfied with this process at all.
