Is Vaping Less Harmful than Smoking?

Studies showed that vapes have nicotine, which is the addictive drug in tobacco products. While regular cigarettes contain more than 7,000 chemicals, many of which are toxic, scientists and doctors still don’t know what chemicals are in vapes.

Director of clinical research, Michael Blaha, said, “There’s almost no doubt that vaping exposes you to fewer toxic chemicals than smoking traditional cigarettes.”

Less Harmful But Certainly Not Safe!!

In February 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed 2,807 cases of vaping use-associated lung injuries with 68 deaths.

Nicotine is considered a toxic substance that can cause high blood pressure, spiked adrenaline, an increased heart rate, and an increased likelihood of having a heart attack. What’s shocking is that nicotine is considered as addictive as heroin and cocaine.

Other risks of vaping include anxiety and depression, sleep problems, exposure to cancer-causing chemicals, and lung damage. Moreover, doctors stated that other health risks could be possible, as vaping hasn’t been around that long for all the short-term and long-term risks to be known.
