Through repeated measurements, it has been noticed that the Moon is currently moving away from Earth by about 3.8 cm each year. Real Research, an online survey app, revealed that 44.96% were completely aware of this and 41.36% were vaguely aware. 13.68% said they were completely unaware of the moon moving away from Earth.

Experts argue that the Moon moving away from Earth could create catastrophic events that could cause harm to the world. 68.22% of the respondents said they were concerned about the moon moving away from Earth.

Survey on moon moving away from Earth

A survey on the moon moving away from Earth was conducted after speculation that the moon would break away from Earth and be drawn to the sun. Our survey showed that 61.46% of the respondents agreed with this speculation.

In addition, Earth’s biosystem and natural environment depend on the moon and its activities. 67.16% of the respondents think the Earth’s natural environment will be negatively affected if the moon drifts away.

66.96% of the respondents think that the moon moving away from the Earth’s orbit could have a negative impact on human lives.

Furthermore, 66.64% of the respondents think NASA and other space research agencies need to combine their forces and find a solution to prevent the Moon from drifting away from the Earth’s orbit.
