E-commerce demand has grown immensely all over the globe. With companies like Amazon and eBay on the lead, people from all age groups are now inclined to shop online. Without a doubt, e-commerce provides convenience and lots of varieties to buyers.

The shift in consumer behavior from shopping preference has opened the door to limitless possibilities and opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs. Online shopping provides 24×7 accessibility to your favorite stores the whole year round — anytime and anywhere.

But knowing which is the best among many e-commerce sites is still subjective. However, the only opinions that do matter are those from the buyers themselves. As a matter of fact, Real Research surveyed people to know who shop online and know their preferred e-commerce site and reasons why they think it is the best.

The Majority Buy Clothes and Electronics Online

Online shopping is a sort of electronic commerce that allows buyers to directly buy goods or services from a seller over the Internet using a web browser or a mobile app. Online stores usually enable shoppers to search for specific brands, models, or things they want. E-commerce is an easier way to shop from the comfort of your home.

Physical shops have limited stock. They only keep products which are popular and most selling. There are many reasons which affect the availability of other products. The local retailer also tries to sell their limited stock. While online shopping showcases variety from their stock and various stores.

According to the Real Research survey, 75% of people shop online. Here, you can easily browse and select products as per your choice and latest trend. You can even buy used products online. Online shopping is trending because you will easily find various items on a single platform. However, 25% replied that they don’t shop online.

Furthermore, among these people who shop online, 35% of them said that they usually buy clothes. Besides, 33% replied that they purchase electronic products, followed by 12% of respondents who responded that they normally order personal care products. Aside from that, 5% shop online for sports/fitness items.

Furthermore, 4% of respondents shop for watches, bags, or accessories, while the other 4% prefer to purchase different items. On the other hand, 3% shop online for groceries, but only 2% said they don’t shop online.

In general, the majority choose online shopping because it is simple. People don’t need to get ready and go to the neighborhood shop. There, you can easily visit many stores to find the items of your choice.

Amazon: The Best E-Commerce Site

We are lucky to live in a world that enables us to order anything with a click of a button. However, there are many online shopping sites to shop from.

When asked which e-commerce sites buyers think is the best, 48% said that Amazon is the best online store. Besides, 11% chose Aliexpress, 10% prefer Walmart, and 8% think Flipkart is the best e-commerce site. On the other hand, 7% believe Alibaba is the best, followed by Daraz, Taobao, Rakuten, eBay, Target, Tokopedias, Ozon, and Coupang. But 4% have other choices than the names listed in the survey.

Furthermore, 30% of these buyers consider their favorite e-commerce sites the best because of the affordable pricing. 17% said they think the site is the best because of the trust toward the e-commerce site and the other 17% responded that the quality of products makes the online shopping site the best. Meanwhile, 16% believe that the wide range of products makes it the best option.

Moreover, 9% said that the timely delivery of items is a factor they believe makes the e-commerce site the best among others. However, 9% think there are other reasons.

As a result, many think their favorite online shopping sites are the best because of the affordable pricing. This can be seasonal sales, discounts, coupons, or many other reasons.

4/5 Rating for Online Shopping Experience

People are looking for convenience when they turn to online shopping, so they expect their shopping experience to be as good as they desire. Also, people don’t want to have a hard time when shopping online.

When asked to rate their online shopping experience (5 being the best and 1 as the worst), about 24% of respondents rated their online shopping experience 4/5, followed by 21% who rated their shopping experience 3/5. Only 17% rated their online experience 5/5.

Aside from these people, 15% of shoppers evaluated their experience as average by noting 2/5. However, 22% of buyers ranked their shopping experience as worst by giving it a 1/5.

This shows that not all buyers are happy with their online shopping experience. However, feedback is the best way to measure customer satisfaction, and these sites should use their customer feedback to improve and give buyers the best experience possible.
