The year 2022 was packed with a lot of events worldwide. From global events such as wars, and economic crises, to notable games, notable personalities, leaders, and others, the year has indeed been eventful.

In this regard, Real Research, an online survey app, launched a survey seeking public opinions on the ‘best of 2022’. In detail, the survey began with a question on who was the best person of the year for 2022. They responded with Elon Musk (21.45%), Volodymyr Zelensky (17.30%), Xi Jinping (9.29%), Janet Yellen (9.15%), MacKenzie Scott (8.71%), Ron DeSantis (8.63%), and Liz Cheney (8.48%).

The Most Memorable Event of 2022

We asked Real Research respondents what was the most memorable event that took place in 2022. The answers came pouring in, starting with FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 (29.35%), continued on with South Korean presidential election (9.66%), the 2022 Commonwealth Games (5.85%), the 2022 Asian Games (5.68%), the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics (5.77%), French presidential election (4.49%), ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 (4.82%), Hong Kong Chief Executive Election (4.41%), The Wimbledon Championships (4.13%), the Philippines general election (4.07%), and the French Open (3.73% )

The survey on the best of 2022 further highlights the following:

  • 14.44% voted Avatar: The Way of Water as the best movie of 2022
  • 12.43% vouched for Moon Knight as the best series of 2022
  • 21.45% chose Elon Musk as the best person of 2022

The Best of 2022 We asked our respondents the best of 2022: series. 12.43% voted for Moon Knight, 11.18% said Stranger Things, next came The Bear 9.42%, followed by 9.11% for Better Call Saul, 9.03% for The Walking Dead, 7.35% for The Witcher, 5.74% said Family Guy, 5.41% Peaky Blinders, and 5.06% Ozark.

We asked which was the best of 2022: music artist.  According to 9.26% of survey respondents, Glass Animals topped the charts followed by, Juice WRLD (9.08%), Lil Nas X (8.82%), Justin Beiber (6.51%), Adele (5.37%), Ed Sheeran (5.26%), Taylor Swift (4.97%), Meghan Trainor (3%), Morgan Wallen (2.97%), Harry Styles (2.91%), and Post Malone (2.84%).

Furthermore, we asked them who was the best of 2022: football player. According to 25.45%, Lionel Messi ranked first followed by, 12.64% who said Cristiano Ronaldo, 9.39% who said Sadio Mane, 9.10% who chose  Kylian Mbappe, 5.19% who voted for Karim Benzema, 4.87% who voted for Mohamed Salah, 4.81% for Harry Kane, and 4.68% Erling Haaland.

Next, we asked our survey respondents which, in their opinion, was the best movie of the year 2022. Here’s how the list goes (14.44%) Avatar: The Way of Water, (7.77%) Top Gun: Maverick, (7.26%) Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, (6.13%) Death on the Nile, (5.61%) Ambulance, (5.40%) Black Panther: Wakanda forever, (3.06%) The Batman, (3.01%) Everything Everywhere All at Once, and (2.99%) Bullet Train.

Best Cryptocurrency of 2022

We asked Real Research respondents about the best cryptocurrency of 2022.  43.79% said Bitcoin (BTC), 14.34% replied Tether (USDT), 12.35% voted for Ethereum (ETH) followed by, 9.35% USD Coin (USDC), 7.44% Binance Coin (BNB), 3.23% Binance USD (BUSD), 2.63% Dogecoin (DOGE), and 2.55% Ripple (XRP).

The Biggest Impact of 2022

We asked our Real Research respondents to pick which global event had the biggest impact for 2022. The Russia-Ukraine War stood on top of the list (20.91%) followed by the emergence of the newer Covid-19 variants (6.21%), the cryptocurrency market crash (5.94%), global economic crisis (5.86%), the cryptocurrency exchange 5.36%, FTX’s bankruptcy, crippling inflation rates (4.07%), Elon Musk taking over Twitter (3.99%), Sri Lanka’s scorching economic crisis (3.37%), US-China tensions (3.31%), and the emergence of the new Monkeypox virus (3.30%).

The Most Prominent Leader

Finally, we asked respondents who the most prominent leader of 2022 was in their opinion. The leaders that topped the list were Volodymyr Zelensky (10.19%), Vladamir Putin (7.9%), Joe Biden (7.43%), Yoon Suk-Yeol (5.7%), Tim Cook (5%), Angela Markel (4.62%), Xi Jinping (4.37%), Gautam Adini (4%), and Abiy Ahmed Ali (3.85%).
