The Hooded Assassin

Shooting the enemies with a bow; hiding in the haystacks and the bushes; killing the enemies with a hidden blade—this was the legacy of the Assassin’s Creed world.

From Pirates to Demigods, the Assassin’s Creed franchise explored and touched on almost historical moments, providing gamers with a unique action-adventure-stealth gameplay experience.

Assassin’s Creed initially started with the story of Desmond Miles, who was abducted by Abstergo Industries to relive the memories of his ancestor Altair Ibn-La’Ahad aka the OG assassin.

Usually, the stories of this game revolve around the battle of the Assassins and Templars as they search for the ‘Pieces of Eden.’

A New Style For Assassins

Ever since 2007, the world of Assassin’s Creed has garnered the attention of gamers worldwide and won several gaming awards. The first phase of the Assassin’s Creed series mostly focused on providing a good story, different styles of assassination, great action-sequence, and, of course, let’s not forget—the leap of faith.

The first phase of action-adventure and stealth-style was implemented until 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Moving into a new style, Assassin’s Creed Origins until Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the latest game, was considered the second phase of the gaming series.

The second phase mostly focused on RPG-style elements, where the protagonists would engage more in combat rather than choosing a stealthy approach.

A Complication For Assassins

Here’s where things got complicated!

The RPG style was not well received by the long-time fans of Assassin’s Creed, as it broke its traditional style of stealthy gameplay. In RPG style, players could not assassinate enemies with one hit and were forced to fight head-on.

Even if players tried to stealthily assassinate, only a certain portion of their health would be drained from these enemies, and of course, the whole army would begin chasing you down.

As fans waited and waited, they were disappointed one game after the other since the development of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

This caused them to troll the once-loved franchise and claim that they were getting worse as time passed.

Hopefully, Ubisoft, the game developer company, could go back to its old style and gain the favor of its fans in the new so-called third phase of the game.
