Due to tough competition, the public opinion on following influencers tends to often change.
Accordingly, Real Research — the online survey app launched a survey to know public opinion on choosing to follow influencers. It asks about the opinion on following influencers. Also, it asked respondents if they follow influencers on social media? Moreover, how important are social media influencers and how important is an influencer’s activity in social media? Likewise, what is social media to you and how important is an influencer’s opinion to you?

21.51% Use Social Media To Stay Up to Date About Global News
To begin, the survey on public opinion on following influencers asks respondents if they have an account on social media. In response, the majority said ‘yes’ (90.03%).
Furthermore, the next question asked why they use social media. On this, 51.19% say they use social media to stay up to date with friends and 21.51% use it to stay up to date about global news. In addition, 10.94% say to stay updated with the latest trends.
Moving forward with the opinion on following influencers, the survey asks if respondents follow any influencers. In reply, 75% said ‘yes’ and 15.21% said ‘no’. Also, 9.79% said ‘I followed before, not anymore’.
40.77% Follow Actors and Actresses on Social Media
The next question in the survey asks what type of influencers do respondents follow. Answers are as follows: actors and actresses (40.77%), models (9.77%), photographers (8.29%), TV and social media stars (5.95%), and bloggers and vloggers (5.27%).
Furthermore, the survey asks why respondents follow a particular influencer. On this, 45.99% said professionalism in the industry while 17.71% said interesting content. Moreover, 10.04% said authenticity and genuineness while 4.90% said scandalous content. Next, the survey asks if respondents unfollowed influencers. Here, 77.34% said ‘yes’ and 22.66% said ‘no’.
Almost 47% Unfollow Influencers for Lengthy Stories
Carrying on, the survey asks what made respondents follow a particular influencer. In response, 46.35% say the influencer had too many lengthy stories. In addition, 13.90% say the influencer’s content became less interesting, 7.88% say the influencer’s field was no longer interesting, and 5.01% say their values no longer matched the influencer’s. Lastly, 4.38% say they got upset by the influencer’s behavior during a certain situation.
Another interesting question regarding the opinion on following influencers survey is how important is an influencer’s activity on social media? Respondents reveal, ‘extremely important’ (43.58%), ‘neutral’ (25.59%), ‘important’ (20.58%), and ‘not important’ (10.25%).
Lastly, the survey asked how important an influencer’s opinion is to the respondents. Over 40% said ‘extremely important. Meanwhile, 26.80% said neutral,19.78% said Important and 10.54% said not important.
