Valentine’s day is universally known as the most romantic day of the year. Thus, some like to celebrate it with their partners inside the comfort of their homes. In contrast, others prefer fancy dates at big restaurants. Another tradition is to exchange gifts with loved ones. However, this year rising cases of Covid-19 seem to be affecting everyone’s Valentine’s day plans.

In order to know the public opinion, Real Research — the online survey app, conducted a survey on the best date plan for Valentine’s day amid Covid. It asked the respondents how they celebrate Valentine’s Day? In addition, what would be the perfect Valentine’s date? Also, what would be the perfect valentines gift to fit Valentine’s day expectations? Here are the results.

52.10% Go Out on a Date With Special Someone on Valentine’s Day

To start off, the survey asked respondents if they celebrate Valentine’s day. The majority (79.21%) said ‘yes’ and 20.79% said ‘no’.

Next, the survey asked if respondents are planning to celebrate Valentine’s day this year. Answering that, 64.36% said ‘yes, like they always do’, 11.63% said ‘yes, for the first time’. In contrast, 13.39% said they never celebrate and 10.63% said ‘no, not this year’.

Furthermore, the survey asks respondents how they usually celebrate Valentine’s day. On this, 52.10% said they like to go on a date with someone special. Likewise, 18.55% said they do not celebrate it, 14.67% said they spend it with their parents, and 10.22% said they spend it with their friends.

Respondents Reveal What Makes the Best Date Plan For Valentine’s Day

The survey then asks what is the ideal and best date plan for Valentine’s day? In answer, 45.54% think a dinner date at home to avoid social distancing is the best date plan for Valentine’s day.

In addition, 15.73% said ‘I will watch a movie at home with my date’ and 12.57% want a dinner date at a fancy restaurant. Meanwhile, 1.88% planned to send gifts by mail and 1.83% consider game night as the best date plan for Valentine’s day

Next, respondents share their opinion on the perfect gift for a loved one. Taking the lead is 36.6% who say expensive jewelry and 14.88% who say fresh flowers. Moreover, 10.79% consider a box of chocolates to be the perfect gift. Also, 8.57% said a good book and 3.81% consider a perfume to be the best gift for a loved one.

Following this, the survey asks respondents what they are expecting on Valentine’s day. In response, 36.48% said something expensive, 18.41% said an effort to be romantic, and 12.79% said anything surprising. On the other hand, 8.38% said romantic dinner, and 4.52% prefer to get drunk together.

44.43% Feel Valentine’s Day Is the Most Romantic Day of the Year

Furthermore, the online survey app asked — how can one avoid Covid-19 on Valentine’s day? The majority (44.33%) said by getting a booster shot and 19.35% said by going to a place where they follow Covid protocols. Adding on, 8.20% say stay home with a partner and 6% advise getting a PCR test before being intimate would help.

On concluding the survey, respondents share their general thoughts about Valentine’s day. Here, 44.43% say it is the most romantic day of the year, whereas 14.34% say it offers a chance to go wild.

In addition, 8.05% feel it is just another ordinary day while 6.73% believe it is the loneliest day of the year. Lastly, 4.35% said people feel forced to celebrate it and 4.21% say the hype behind it has taken away any special meaning it once held.
