  • 5 in 10 (50.04%) highly agree that the FIFA World Cup 2022 is the most shocking tournament in its history
  • 44.96% observed Germany was not playing well enough in general during the World Cup 2022

Only 4% Did Not Watch Any of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Games

45.47% watched all the games, 28.13% watched most of them, and 22.38% watched some of the FIFA World Cup 2022 games.

One of the surprising moments in the FIFA 2022 World Cup is Saudi Arabia’s win over Argentina. Among the shocking match outcomes, survey respondents chose the most dramatic moment from the FIFA world cup 2022. Responses are the following:

South Korea’s win over Portugal (49.81%), Japan’s win over Spain (17.24%), Germany’s loss to Japan (9.57%), and Saudi Arabia’s win over Argentina (9.54%).

In addition to the shocking match outcomes, there were also many surprising moments in the FIFA 2022 World Cup. According to survey respondents, these include the instance where the referee abruptly ended the South Korea-Ghana match (54.17%).

Others were surprised when Germany was eliminated despite winning 4-2 against Costa Rica (24.69%), and 9.16% were shocked by Ronaldo claiming the header, but the goal was credited to Fernandes.

Japan, Spain, and Germany Controversy

During the Japan-Spain match, Ao Tanaka’s goal in the 51st minute has been subject to controversy. The majority of the survey respondents (25.93%) believe the ball was out of bounds; therefore, Japan should not have won. 23.34% believe the ball was still in, while 23.16% say the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) footage was unclear.

Subsequently, Japan’s controversial win against Spain resulted in Germany’s elimination from Group E despite their 4-2 win against Costa Rica.

23.76% of respondents believe Germany’s elimination was just fair, and 44.96% observed Germany was not playing well enough in general during the World Cup tournament. However, 31.28% think it was unfair for Germany since Japan’s goal should not have been counted in the first place.

Ronaldo, a Substitute Player

Another occurrence from the surprising moments in the FIFA 2022 World Cup was when Ronaldo was dropped from Portugal’s starting line-up for Switzerland, and Morocco matches.

This gathered various reactions, where most respondents (49.69%) disagreed with Portugal’s decision. In contrast, 27.95% believe Ronaldo deserved to be benched as a consequence of his bad behavior during their match against South Korea.

Regarding which team the survey respondents predict to win the FIFA World Cup 2022, most (31.58%) expect Argentina will win, while others expect it to be France (24.96%), Morocco (14.75%), and Croatia (10.97%).
