Alcoholic beverages are popular in many parts of the world. While it is true that some places are dry states and nations, most serve and sell alcohol within their borders. In fact, some countries have popular local brews that attract tourists. Besides these, there are renowned brands and alcoholic drinks that are popular worldwide.
Recently, Real Research surveyed its audience to observe alcohol consumption patterns. To follow up, the online survey application launched another survey to see what are the most popular drinks around the world. Here are the results.

53.95% of the Respondents Consume Alcoholic Drinks
For the first question in the most popular drinks around the world survey, Real Research asks its respondents if they consume any alcoholic beverages. To which, 53.95% say ‘Yes’. Following up, the next question asks which is their most preferred alcoholic drink. On this, 23.18% say Wine, 12.98% say Beer, 4.01% say Whiskey, and 3.91%say Vodka. More so, 2.30% equally chose Rum and Soju. Then, 2.21% say Gin, and so forth.
Next, the survey asks what respondents look for when they choose to have an alcoholic beverage. On this, 20.29% expect to see high alcohol content. In contrast, 9.18% wish to have low alcohol content.
Meanwhile, 11.72% say the taste is what matters most. Likewise, 3.52% say brand matters, 2.56% say the color of the drink is important, and 2.06% say the shape of the bottle is most important. In addition, the rest chose options that include country of origin, reviews from other customers, recommendations, cost, and seeing popular ads.

Respondents Reveal Alcohol Brand Preferences
Up next on the most popular drinks around the world survey, Real Research asks its respondents about popular alcohol brands. In detail, the survey asks respondents about alcohol brand preference when it comes to Vodka, Whiskey, Rum, and Beer.
Accordingly, respondents chose the following for Vodka: Absolut (21.95%), Smirnoff (5.76%), Grey Goose (5.73%), Skyy (3.77%), Ciroc (3.22%), Crystal Head (2.45%), Beluga (0.46%), Svedka (0.31%%), and ‘Other’ (20.87%).
Similarly, for Whiskey: Johnnie Walker (25.42%), Glenfiddich (5.45%), Glen Moray (4.88%), Highland Park (2.88%), The Glenlivet (2.81%), Speyburn (2.24%), and ‘Other’ (21.57%).
Likewise, for Rum: Bacardi (21.55%), Old Monk (6.88%), Captain Morgan (6.27%), Malibu (3.51%), Havana Club (2.59%), Goslings (2.02%), Don Papa (0.31%), Santa Teresa (0.27%), Ron Zacapa (0.14%), and ‘Other’ (20.49%).
Finally, for Beer: Guinness (20.74%), Carlsberg (6.73%), Budweiser (6.29%), Heineken (5.41%), Corona (3.85%), Pilsner Urquell (2.00%), Tiger (0.67%), Hoegaarden (0.53%), San Miguel (0.29%), Asahi (0.23%), Stella Artois (0.17%), and ‘Other’ (21.42%).
As for the wine enthusiasts, the survey asks what type of wine they prefer to consume. Here, 27.30% chose Red Wine, 6.49% chose Rose Wine, and 6.38% chose White Wine. Lastly, 4.05% chose Sparkling Wine and 2.71% chose Dessert Wine.
Mojito Takes the Lead As Most Popular Cocktail
Similar to the previous questions, the next question aims to find the most popular cocktail among the respondents. In order, Mojito (22.22%), Martini (7.35%), Cosmopolitan (3.85%), Gin Tonic (3.67%), Long Island Iced Tea (3.15%), Whiskey Hightail (2.59%), and Pina Colada (1.20%).
Additionally, Margarita (0.37%), Bloody Mary (0.33%), Old Fashioned (0.19%), Manhattan (0.17%), Mai Tai (0.15%), Daiquiri (0.09%), Moscow Mule (0.07%), Gimlet (0.06%) and ‘Other’ (20.74%).
