Kiosk machines are becoming really popular around the world. Specifically, kiosks are for ease of customers. Nonetheless, it has made so many services easily available, especially at odd hours. Still, some have their reservations. Moreover, some kiosks cater to new technology and they work much faster. Thus, the self-service kiosk is great for customer service.

Accordingly, Real Research has launched a survey on kiosk machines. In detail, it focused on kiosk benefits and the satisfaction with the kiosk machine due to customer ease. Furthermore, it asked about the advantages and disadvantages of self-service kiosks. Here are the results.

83.58% Are Aware of Kiosk Machines

The survey asked if the respondents are aware of kiosk machines. In response, 83.58% said ‘yes’, while 16.43% said ‘no’. The next question asked if they have ever used a kiosk. In reply, 74.24% said ‘yes’, whereas 25.76% said ‘no’.

Furthermore, the survey asked respondents what types of kiosks they are most familiar with. The answers are as follows: kiosks for ordering various products (70.24%), kiosks for reception/ticket issuance (16.78%), and information kiosks (11.89%).

56.11% Say Kiosks Can Reduce Waiting Time

Similarly, in the next question respondents voted about their satisfaction with kiosk machines. On this, 59.98% are ‘very satisfied’ and 21.34% are ‘satisfied’. On the other hand, 16.84% are neutral and 1.84% are ‘dissatisfied’.

Next, the survey asks respondents what makes them satisfied with kiosk machines? In answer, 56.11% say waiting time reduces, 18.84% say it helps with speedy orders, and 9.01% say it is available 24/7. Lastly, 5.98% say ‘no need to face staff’ while 1.20% say they prefer machines to people.

In addition, the survey asks if respondents ever felt uncomfortable when using a kiosk. Here, 77.41% say ‘yes’, 15.64% say ‘no’, and 6.95% say ‘unsure’.

Following the previous question, the survey asks about why respondents felt uncomfortable while using a kiosk machine. In reply, 48.94% say the height of the kiosk is either too high or too low. In addition, 20.46% say it is too complicated to use and 4.24% say cash payment is not possible. Lastly, 3.09% say the picture or text on the screen is hard to see.

56.05% Prefer To Use a Self-Service Kiosk Machine

Further, the survey asks what respondents would prefer, a self-service kiosk or staff? In response, 56.05% say they prefer ‘self-service kiosks’ and 19.35% say they prefer ‘staff’.

Lastly, the survey asks respondents if they think kiosk machines are becoming a problem for the elderly or the differently-abled. On this, 50.73% say they think it is necessary to prevent the spread of kiosks and increase face-to-face staff.

Also, 26.87% say they think no one can stop the rise of kiosks. In addition, 14.41% push for the need to fix the inconvenience of kiosk machines. Lastly, 6.39% are of the view that elderly consumers should learn to use electronic devices.
