With attacks imposed by Russia, thousands of lives in Ukraine have been under risk causing global concerns. The war bought concerns for Ukraine as well as various sanctions against Russia. In the wake of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, these concerns led to many companies and organizations supporting Ukraine in one of its most difficult times.

Thus, Real Research, an online survey app, launched a survey about various companies and organizations supporting Ukraine. The survey seeks to understand public opinions about the politics of the Russia-Ukraine war, and the events following. Here are the results.

Highlights

  • 33.95% believe Russia invaded Ukraine due to the situation in Donbas.
  • 53.52% say nations can only offer financial aid for defense tools.
  • 23.16% say their country can barely care for its own people, so cannot help Ukraine.

In a survey on companies and organizations supporting Ukraine, respondents were asked why they believe Russia invaded Ukraine. To this, a majority of 33.95% responded ‘due to the situation in Donbas (Donetsk and Luhansk) while 19.41% said ‘to expand Russian territory’.

Moreover, 15.36% said ‘to stop Ukraine from joining NATO’, while  7.85% ‘it is a continued cold war between Russia and the USA’. Finally, 7.72% say ‘to gain control of Chernobyl’.

The survey asks if respondents are aware of Russia’s attack on Ukraine. All 68.79% said ‘yes, I am following it intently’. Whereas 18.03% said ‘yes, but I don’t know all the details’, and 8.09% said ‘no, this kind of news scares and depresses me’. Lastly, 5.09% said ‘no, my country does not broadcast this news’.

Are Western Countries Providing Enough Aid to Ukraine?

Further on, the survey asks respondents’ opinions on whether Western countries such as the USA and EU provide enough financial aid to Ukraine for defense and other purposes. A majority of 53.52% voted ‘yes, this is all they can do so the battle will not escalate into a war’.

Whereas, 17.18% say ‘I think other nations should also provide support, not only Western countries’. Likewise, 11.72% say ‘I think the conflict should be resolved by Russia and Ukraine alone’. However, 16.49% say ‘no, they should provide military support as promised’.

Next, the survey asks respondents if they would want their respective countries to accept Ukrainian refugees during this crisis. All 48.20% say ‘absolutely’, 39.11% are neutral, and 12.69% would absolutely not accept Ukrainian refugees.

To follow, the survey asks respondents why they would be against accepting Ukrainian refugees in their country. To which, a majority of 23.16% say ‘my country can barely take care of its own people’ and 22.47% say ‘my country is already filled with refugees from internal and external conflicts’.

Moreover, 21.26% say accepting Ukrainian refugees could anger Russia and expose their country to war. Whereas, 9.27% say unemployment will increase and 7.42% say conflicts from racism may arise. Lastly, 5.75% say there will be a shortage of resources and 5.72% suggest an increase in crime rates.

In contrast, the survey asks respondents why they would be in favor of accepting Ukrainian refugees. A majority of 63.03% say ‘my country has good relations with Russia, they will not fight us’. Whereas, 17.28% say ‘we must put humanity above fear and help those who need it’. Lastly, 8.99% say ‘my country is strong enough to fight Russia’ and 6.79% say ‘my country’s economy is in good shape’.

Finally, respondents were asked if they are aware of various companies and organizations supporting Ukraine. To this, 79.90% said ‘yes’ and 20.10% said ‘no’.
