Rumors of BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie dating spread across the internet when ‘defaming’ pictures of the duo emerged. Whether real or photoshopped is still up for debate.

The topic, like the personal lives of many other celebrities and influential figures, has been a matter of public discussion and speculation in society. However, famous figures argue that details about their private lives are confidential and out of the limelight. Their fans, supporters, and others see it differently.

Ultimately, the rumors sparked a widespread debate about the right of celebrities to privacy in the first place.

Real Research, an online survey app, launched a survey on BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie dating to gauge opinions about celebrity privacy. The survey can probe what the public thinks about the issue with countless views.

Recently, culture and entertainment have evolved drastically with changing trends. Various entertainment groups and bands from South Korea have been all the rage, namely, BTS, EXO, TXT, BLACKPINK, and SEVENTEEN, among others.

These entertainment groups’ music, commonly referred to as ‘K-Pop,’ is a global phenomenon experiencing high popularity and fame. Most of the appeal lies in modern music, while others say the perfectly choreographed dance routine adds to these groups’ popularity. However, alongside this heightened popularity and support from fans and supporters is increased curiosity about these groups’ personal lives– the lives away from the limelight.

When curiosity and eagerness about the personal lives of celebrities increase, there are bound to be questions about their privacy. Moreover, whether true or not, rumors, pictures, videos, etc., spread like wildfire.

Accordingly, recent rumors of BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie dating emerged. The unofficial news has since caused a stir among fans of both groups, probing pictures of the duo to emerge. These pictures, later identified as allegedly photoshopped, were circulated, and the record label of both groups, Big Hit, consequently took necessary legal action against the ‘defaming’ photos.

Over 69% Are Aware of BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie Dating Rumors

The news stirred discussions about celebrities’ right to privacy. Accordingly, the survey on celebrity privacy revealed that 57.18% are aware of the entertainment group BTS, while 10.67% are aware of BLACKPINK. 20.42% are aware of both, whereas 11.47% have never heard of any.

The survey also indicated that 69.33% are aware of dating rumors of BTS V and BLACKPINK Jennie. 30.67%, however, are not aware.

The rumors emerged primarily due to the pictures of the two seen circulating. Thus, when asked if respondents saw the images in question, 65.14% saw them, whereas 24.66% had not.

Are Celebrities Entitled to Privacy?

Rumors, speculations, and news about influential figures’ private lives often become viral topics of discussion and controversy. However, as aforementioned, many of these figures have shown displeasure concerning personal privacy.

When asked about the same, the survey also exhibited that 86.29% feel that public figures have personal lives away from the public eye. The rest (13.71%) otherwise think public figures do not have private lives away from the public eye.

In particular, the survey on BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie dating results also revealed that 75.45% of respondents favor privacy among celebrities and famous figures.

It leaves 24.55% against the fact that celebrities are entitled to privacy. Possible fans, supporters, and the public likely feel that these figures should share more details about their private lives since they spend most of their lives in the limelight.

Importance of Privacy in Public Figures’ Lives

Next, the survey probed why public figures need to have privacy in their lives. Reasons concerning privacy importance, according to respondents, are for the safety of self, friends & family (52.95%), property & belongings (18.55%), and possible security breaches (7.37%).

Others on the matter said that regardless of their fame and occupation, they are humans (5.91%), privacy is a right (5.9%), and a matter of a personal choice (3.35%).

In contrast, the survey probed why privacy is insignificant for public figures in their personal lives. Nearly half (46.51%) remarked that privacy breaches are inevitable, while others (16.2%) said public figures might not always be in danger of not having privacy. 13.88% state it’s for the fans to show concern and support, and their careers are, in fact, in the limelight (5.36%). A distinct 10.93% say privacy is subjective.

Furthermore, this survey probing whether celebrities are entitled to privacy or not asks whether privacy is a right or acquired by setting boundaries. In response, nearly 8 out of 10 (79.94%) say privacy is a right. In contrast, 20.06% feel that privacy is acquired.

The demand for publications, news, and reports has risen considerably in recent years. Our report proportionately shows that 76.38% say that writings about the private lives of celebrities and public figures interest them, while the rest (23.62%) do not.
