After almost three decades, when Jurassic Park debuted and became a blockbuster film with over S1 Billion came the last movie of the Jurassic World trilogy. Frequently, a bad review from movie critics can affect box office results, but exclude Jurassic World Dominion despite its 30% rating from Tomatometer, for it reached $319 Million on its first weekend of shows.

On this note, negative reviews did not matter to the viewers. Moreover, there are other reasons why people watch movies. For this reason, Real Research launched a survey seeking public opinion on Jurassic World Dominion’s box office success despite negative feedback from moviegoers. Here are the results.

Over 60% Watched Jurassic World Dominion

To begin, the survey in search of the public opinions on Jurassic World Dominion’s box office success despite negative feedback from moviegoers asks what movie genre respondents prefer. The responses are the following: Action (55.95%), Drama (8.89%), Comedy (8.14%), Adventure (7.35%), Science Fiction (6.48%), Horror (6.40%), and Romance (5.78%).

Then the survey follows with a question on respondents’ main reason for watching a movie. In this, answers are the following: Movie Franchise (43.57%), Story/Plot (21.24%), Theme (14.58%), Characters/Actors (9.47%), Trend (5.86%), and Director/Makers (4.39%).

When the survey asks if they have seen the movie ‘Jurassic World Dominion’, 64.93% have watched it, 18.27% have not, and 16.79% have plans to watch it.

70% Give The Highest Rating for Jurassic World Dominion

Accordingly, the survey asks respondents the main reasons for watching the movie ‘Jurassic World Dominion’. Here, 73.21% admit they are fans of the Jurassic Park franchise, 13.06% love dinosaurs, and 6.41% want to see the whole cast – OG Crew and Jurassic World Crew, unite. Meanwhile, 3.53% say the movie trailer was intriguing and 3.25% say it was the trend.

Consequently, the survey asks their opinions on how they would rate the movie. The majority of 70% rated the movie ‘5’, the highest rating. Followed by a rating of ‘4’ at 13.50%, ‘3’ at 6.86%, ‘2’ at 2.64%, and ‘1’ at 6.99%.

The Jurassic Park franchise consists of 6 movies. The survey asks the respondents their opinions on which they consider best. The blockbuster movie ‘Jurassic Park’, which debuted three decades ago, got the most at 49.81%. Next are ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’ at 12.35%, ‘Jurassic World’ at 8.16%, and ‘Jurassic Park III’ at 7.04%. Others choose ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ at 6.50%, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ at 5.79%, and ‘Battle at Big Rock’ at 4.09%. Meanwhile, 6.26% have never seen any of the Jurassic Park franchise.

Who Would Want Spoilers?

Furthermore, the survey asks respondents if they look into critics’ ratings and reviews before watching a movie. In response, 76.66% say they do and 23.34% do not.

Similarly, it follows with a question on whether critics’ ratings and reviews affect their decision to catch a movie, to this 56.55% say they do not watch it if it has poor ratings and reviews. Meanwhile, other respondents are affected by added factors on top of movie reviews, namely the Actors (19.73%) and Theme and Genre (7.73%). On the other hand, 6.65% still watch a movie regardless of its poor ratings, while 9.34% remain unsure.

Finally, the survey asks respondents why they avoid movie reviews before watching. In response, 50.43% say that reviews often contain spoilers, 16.11% say critics’ perspectives may differ from theirs, and 9.37% say movie reviews may be one-sided. A further 4.72% do not want to hear added opinions, and the remaining 14.09% are unsure.
