The crash occurred amid foggy conditions as the president returned from a trip to Azerbaijan, where he inaugurated a dam. Initial reports from Iran’s state media described it as an “accident.” 63% of the respondents are not convinced that the incident was an “accident,” and 37% believe it was.

Impact of President Raisi’s Death on Middle East Tensions

The death of Ebhraim Raisi comes amid instability in the Middle East after Iran attacked Israel in response to a deadly strike on its Damascus diplomatic compound. Respondents were asked if the death of Iranian president could add to tensions.

They responded “strongly agree” (66%), “somewhat agree” (27%), “somewhat disagree” (4%), and “strongly disagree (2%), respectively.

Public Opinion on the Helicopter Crash

60% of the respondents believe the Israel-Palestine conflicts played a role in the Iranian President’s helicopter crash, while 40% did not believe so.

Current Vice President to Temporarily Take Power

According to the Iranian constitution, the first vice president must take power until an election is held within 50 days. In this case, Mohammad Mokhber, Iran’s current first vice president, will take power. 64% of respondents were satisfied with his immediate appointment, while 36% weren’t.

The Future of the Hezbollah-Iran Relationship

Finally, many have speculated that the relationship between the Lebanese Shia Islamist political party, Hezbollah, and Iran is likely to remain the same after the death of Ebrahim Raisi.

The survey on the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi revealed that 61% of respondents believe the Hezbollah-Iran relationship is likely to remain unchanged, while 39% believe there will be change.
