Netflix fans stopped ‘Netflix and chilling’ after there’s been much panic circling in society on its recent news. Viewers love using Netflix because of its ad-free, uninterrupted streaming. In detail, Netflix has lost over 200K subscribers since 2022 compared to new streaming platforms. Moreover, it lost many Marvel programs to Disney+ and suffered staff layoffs. Naturally, the once-dominating streaming service is attempting to make amends.

However, there’s a divide between subscribers who dread Netflix ads and those willing to get Netflix’s cheaper ad-supported subscription plan. For this reason, Real Research, an online survey app, launched a survey seeking public opinion on Netflix ads. Moreover, the survey aims to find out how the public feels about ad-friendly streaming plans on Netflix.

Public Opinion on Netflix Ads

The survey on Netflix ads asks whether respondents know about Netflix’s cheaper Ad-supported subscription plan. In reply, 70.9% say ‘Ýes’, 14% say ‘No’, and 14.9% are únsure about it.

Next, the survey asks respondents if they subscribe to Netflix. A whopping 73.63% said yes, while only 26.37% of respondents replied no.

Will Respondents Continue Watching Netflix?

Following that, the survey asks respondents if they will keep their subscription when Netflix’s cheaper Ad-supported subscription plan launches. Respondents replied ‘I will keep my plan’ (65.39%), while others said ‘I will switch to a cheaper ad-based subscription plan’ (12.39%). Others said ‘I will cancel my Netflix subscription’ (5.17%), leaving some who said ‘I will switch to other streaming platforms’ (4.12%).

Furthermore, the survey asks respondents if they are willing to subscribe to Netflix when the cheaper subscription plan comes. Here, the respondents that said yes are 42.89%, and the ones that replied no are majorly 57.11%.

Respondents’ Views on Netflix Ads Helping Increase Viewership and Sales

The survey reveals that 45.27% think ‘most definitely’ when asked ad-friendly tier will help Netflix increase viewership and sales. A further 25.6% seem neutral about it, but 15.89% feel it will ‘definitely’ help. Moreover, 7.59% feel it could ‘definitely not’ help with increasing Netflix sales, similarly to 6.19% that said ‘most definitely not’.

Finally, the survey asks for respondents’ opinions on other ways Nextflix can increase its audience. In response, the majority (60.14%) suggest bringing back Netflix free trials.

Furthermore, 10.27% expressed the need to be aggressively notified when a show/movie is leaving Netflix. 6.35% think Netflix should capitalize on merchandising, and 6.24% share they should enhance visual quality. The other 5.87% of respondents want to see more variety of genres and 5.43% want to share Netflix content and activity on social media.
