Science-fiction shows have enraptured audience worldwide and became a big part of culture. Netflix’s Stranger Things is one such show that has caused a lot of stir with its recent season 4. Viewers were anticipating the recently launched Stranger Things Season 4, after a wait of 3 years due to Covid-19. The show unravels new supernatural forces that a group of friends fight while dealing with the police and the Russian government.

Accordingly, Real Research launched a survey seeking public opinion on Stranger Things season 4. Specifically, the survey aims to find the public reception of Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 4. Here are the results.

The survey on Stranger Things Season 4 starts by asking respondents’ awareness about the show. In reply, a majority of 83.29%% say yes they are aware and only 16.72% say that they are not.

Next, given that the show has 4 seasons, the survey asks if the respondents have watched Stranger things. All 62.25% say yes they have watched season 1, whereas 13.13% have not watched the show at all. Moreover, over 11% have watched till season 2, and 6% have watched till season 3. Furthermore, almost 4% say that they are currently watching season 4 and 4.09% say that they have watched all 4 seasons.

Then, the survey asks respondents which of the 4 seasons they like best. In reply, 63.48% say they liked Season 1, while 13.89% said they liked Season 2 the best. Furthermore, 9% replied they liked all the seasons. Whereas, 8% preferred season 3 and 5.72% liked season 4 the best.

Accordingly, the survey on Stranger Things Season 4 asks respondents about their favorite character in the show. In response, the majority (55.86%) say ‘Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder)’ while 14.81% say ‘Jim Hopper(David Harbour)’. Moreover, 7.42% like Eleven/Jane Hopper (Millie Bobby Brown), and 5.43% like Young Eleven (Martie Blair). Whereas, 3% like Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), and 2.56% like Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo).

Further on, the survey asks respondents if the show accurately depicts the 1980s. To this, a majority of 73.02% of respondents feel ‘yes it is nostalgic’, while 12.32% feel ‘no, there are some inaccuracies’. Moreover, 14.66% are unsure. Next, the survey asks respondents to rate Stranger Things overall on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the best. All 55.54% of respondents rate it 5, 15.51% rate it 4 and 8.37% rated it 3. Whereas 8.93% rated it 1 and 4.38% said 2.

Stranger Things Season 4 part 1 was released in May and part 2 will be released in July. The survey asks respondents to share views on splitting the season into two parts. 67.9% say it is interesting, and 13.10% replied that it was necessary. 12.36% are unsure, whereas 6.63% believe that it is unnecessary.

Accordingly, the survey asks respondents if they are looking forward to Stranger Things Season 4, volume 2. All 65.11% say they are looking forward to it, while 23.21% are neutral. Moreover, 11.69% say they are not looking forward to it.

The survey then asks respondents which character deserves more screentime in season 4, volume 2. A majority of 56.01% say, Joyce Byers, while 17% prefer Jim Hopper. Moreover, 6.73% prefer Eleven/Jane Hopper, and 3.90% said, Mike Wheeler. A further 2.81% would like to see more of Dustin Henderson.

To conclude, Stranger Things Season 4 survey asks respondents about the biggest success factor of Netflix’s Stranger Things. All 55.39% feel the actor’s performance is the biggest factor. Whereas 20% believe that the unique worldview is a big factor too. On the other hand, 12.39% say that a script with a great story and structure matters most. 6.91% think Netflix’s market power and 5% feel realistic CG technology for Upside Down is the show’s success factor.
