Weiss.Fans are awaiting the inevitable yet glacial end of the book series, ‘A Song of Fire and Ice’, that inspired the show series called Game of Thrones. Meanwhile, HBO plans to keep the audience interested. HBO is launching a prequel series to Game of Thrones called House of the Dragon. ‘. The culture of fantasy shows has gained a lot of popularity and this series particularly has a mass audience of over 44 million.

Thus, Real Research launched a survey seeking public opinion on the upcoming series House of the Dragon’. It aims to evaluate popular sentiment on the upcoming series, ‘House of the Dragon.’ Here are the results.

Popularity of the HBO Series – Game of Thrones

The survey asks if respondents have seen HBO’s Game of Thrones series. The majority (81.20%) had seen the popular series. Whereas, 18.80% of respondents say ‘no’. Secondly, the survey asks if they have read Goerge R.R. Martin’s ‘Fire & Blood’ based on the history of House Targaryen. In reply, a whopping 76.60% say ‘yes’, and 23.40% say ‘no’.

Accordingly, the survey asks if respondents are willing to watch ‘House of Dragon’ based on the book series. In response, the majority (63.59%) will watch it immediately. Whereas 17.14% will wait for reviews before watching it. On the other hand, 12.30% say that they will never watch it, and 6.97% say they will watch it after more seasons are announced.

Next, the survey asks respondents about their excitement to watch ‘House of Dragon’. In reply, 63.54% say they are extremely excited, while 23.68% are somewhat excited, 8.48% are not very excited, and 4.31% are not excited.

Accordingly, the survey asks respondents why they are uninterested in the show. Here, 23.29% say they don’t like the cast, and 22.88% say they don’t want a show focused on the House of Targaryen. Meanwhile, 16.53% ‘do not care about the prequel story.’ Moreover, 13.96% are still bummed about how Game of Thrones ended and think this will be worse. Lastly, 7.99% believe ‘HBO ruined A song of Fire and Ice, they will ruin Fire & Blood’. Whereas, the remaining 11.14% think ‘it is too violent, and not to their taste’.

Next, the survey asks respondents what they are most excited to see in House of the Dragon. In response, 54.26% say ‘intricate story’, 16.18% say ‘exploring the fictional world’s rich history.’ Additionally, 9.66% are excited to see legendary characters from ‘Game of Thrones.’ Whereas, 5.91% want ‘to see more dragons’.

The Future and Public Opinion on the ‘House of the Dragon’

The survey asks respondents if House of Dragons will be as popular as Game of Thrones. In reply, 63.54% say it will be more popular, whereas 22.55% believe ‘it will be just as popular’, and 13.91% say ‘it will not be popular’.

Furthermore, the survey asks how many seasons should House of Dragons have. Respondents say only 1 (54.26%), 2-3 (23.44%), 4-5 (10.41%), and 6 or more (11.89%).

Lastly, the survey asks if respondents will watch more series of this franchise in the future. All 60.77% say ‘yes, but only if HBO makes it’ and 13.03% say ‘Yes, but only if it is about House Stark’. Whereas 9.19% say ‘Yes, but only if the series is set after the events of Game of Thrones.’
