The latest adaptation of the iconic Addams Family franchise– Wednesday, breaks another Netflix record. The Netflix series Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega, amassed nearly 6 billion minutes of viewership during its premiere week last month. It is the second-most streamed series in a single week, surpassing Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and behind only Stranger Things’ fourth season.

For those unfamiliar with the supernatural series, it follows Wednesday Addams’ years as a student as she learns to master her burgeoning psychic ability while thwarting and solving the mystery that embroiled her parents.

As a result of the massive success of season 1, Wednesday has been renewed for season 2.

Netflix’s Wednesday became a pop culture phenomenon. A survey launched by Real Research, an online survey app, attempted to gather opinions about the latest hit series.

The survey on the latest Netflix hit series further highlights the following:

  • 46.21% are highly looking forward to the Netflix series Wednesday Season 2
  • 53.1% loved Jenna Ortega for playing both the roles of Wednesday and Goody Addams
  • 67.79% enjoyed the whole Netflix series Wednesday despite the change of directors

Everyone Has Seen the Netflix Series Wednesday

In detail, 57.67% have finished watching all the episodes of the Wednesday series, while 42.33% have not finished watching.

Furthermore, the majority of survey respondents (46.21%) are highly looking forward to Season 2. 35.99% are looking forward. However, 15.68% are not looking forward to Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2 but will watch it anyway.

Jenna Ortega on Netflix Series Wednesday

Jenna Ortega is the latest actress to portray the Addams Family’s eldest daughter, Wednesday Addams. Fans have warmly received Ortega, and survey reports show that 36.2% like her portrayal of Wednesday. While 32.2% love her characterization of Wednesday, the rest (31.6%) do not like it

Ortega did not only play as Wednesday in the series but also as Goody Addams. To this, the majority (53.1%) loved her for playing both roles. 38% prefer her performance as Wednesday, while 7.18% prefer her role as Goody.

Nevertheless, 45.33% think somebody else should have played Wednesday, while 36.08% think someone else is better to play the role of Goody. A distinct 10.28% think Jenna Ortega should not have been in the Netflix series Wednesday at all.

Favorite Characters on Netflix Series Wednesday

Among the favorite characters of our survey respondents, first place goes to Wednesday (11.04%), followed by Marilyn Thornhill (9.83%), Thing (7.54%), and Gomez Addams (6.85%).

Regarding their favorite actors and actresses, Christina Ricci, who played Marilyn Thornhill, has the highest vote (11.53%). After her is Jenna Ortega (10.72%), who played the roles of Wednesday Addams and Goody Addams.

Others voted for Catherine Zeta-Jones (6.75%) as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzman (6.51%) as Gomez Addams, and William Houston (6.25%) as Joseph Crackstone.

Different actresses have portrayed Wednesday Addams in adaptations of The Addams Family over the years. The survey asked which among the actresses is their favorite to play the role of Wednesday. The respondents voted for the following:

Jenna Ortega (34.3%), Christina Ricci (23.15%), Nicole Fugere (21.68%), and Lisa Loring (20.87%).

The Final Judgment Over Netflix Series Wednesday

Regarding the directing part of the series, most (67.79%) enjoyed the whole Netflix series Wednesday despite the change of directors. 25.26% enjoyed the four episodes Tim Burton directed and disliked the rest, while 4.46% did not enjoy Burton’s episodes but liked the rest.

The majority of survey respondents (37.6%) rated the Wednesday series 1 out of 5. Others (22.8%) rated it 2, 3 (22.03%), 4 (11.37%), and 5 (5.19%).

To conclude, the survey asked respondents if they would recommend the Netflix series Wednesday, which 45.41% would. Others (40.7%) would even highly recommend watching it. However, the rest (13.89%) would not recommend watching the Wednesday series.
