The Food & Beverage industry has grown tremendously in recent years. Some expanded to become the world’s most popular food chains. To name some, such popular pizza brand chains are Pizza Hut and Domino’s. Both Pizza brands offer delectable pizzas and pizza toppings, side dishes, and desserts. Thus, over the years society formed its own opinions about these pizza brands.

Thus, Real Research launched a survey on Pizza Hut vs Domino’s Pizza. The survey aims to find out public opinions about their preferred pizza brand. Here are the results.

Everyone Eat Pizza

To begin with, the survey asks whether respondents eat pizza. 95.67% eat pizza, whereas, 4.34% do not. In line with this, 45.02% say they eat pizza daily, whereas, 18.37% monthly, and 18.29% eat pizza weekly. However, 17.07% eat pizza 1-2 times every 3 months.

When asked what their favorite pizza brand is, 65.35% say Pizza Hut, whereas, 28.37% say Domino’s. Next, the survey asks what respondents consider the most when choosing a pizza. In reply, 50.88% consider price, 15.16% consider taste, 14.63% consider food quality, and 8.66% consider store location. A smaller percentage of respondents consider deals (3.27%) and vouchers, value for money (2.92%), and a new menu (2.09%).

Further on, the survey asks what occasion respondents eat pizza. 46.20% eat pizza as a meal, 21.37% as a snack, and 7.61% as a late-night meal. Following that, 6.93% eat pizza when family get-togethers, 5.47% at parties, and 4.82% while hanging out with friends. Lastly, 4.05% eat pizza while watching Netflix at home, and 3.14% eat at social gatherings.

Accordingly, the survey also asks what menu type respondents tend to order. In response, 68.99% say ‘the menu I always order’, and 19.59% say ‘brand new menu I saw on a commercial.’ A further 11.41% say ‘menus recommended by others.’ Moreover, when asked how respondents prefer their pizza crust, 54.47% prefer classic pan crust, 14.80% thin and crispy, and 12.96% cheese stuffed crust. Meanwhile, 7% prefer hand-tossed crust, 6.16% pocket bites, and 4.61% seasonal crust of all kinds.

Additionally, the survey asks what respondents’ favorite pizza toppings are. Meat such as meatballs, chicken, bacon, and pepperoni are chosen by 56.05%. Following that, vegetables (15.28%), cheese (12.81%), seafood (6.77%), mushrooms (5.68%), and fruit such as pineapple, and tomato, (3.04%), etc. Accordingly, the survey asks what pizza base sauce respondents prefer. On this, 51.12% prefer Marinara tomato sauce, 23.01% BBQ sauce, and 10.29% Hot and Spicy sauce. Adding on, 8.20% prefer Alfredo cream sauce and 6.97% Pesto sauce.

The Majority Prefer Side Dishes Such As Wings and Strips

The survey then asks what side dishes respondents prefer. 53.01% say chicken wings and strips, 13.39% say bread, 9.17% say pasta, and 7.06% say dessert. A further 5.95% prefer salad, 4.72% fritters, and 2.76% fried rice.

Next, the survey began to assess respondents what kind of service method they usually prefer. The majority (50.80%) prefer dine-in, while 31.70% prefer delivery, 8.08% car-side delivery, and 9.41% takeaway. When asked how respondents place pizza orders, 43.90% say pizza brand website, and 18.43% say brand’s app. Following that, 15.64% placed orders through the food delivery platform, 11.35% via phone, and 10.67% just walk-in.

Interestingly, as far as ambiance is concerned, 49.17% say modern yet trendy, 22.83% say classic, and 10.35% say casually. Furthermore, 7.93% say warm and family-style, 3.75% say exotic and unique, and 3.17% say vintage and rustic. Then, the survey asks what respondents are most concerned about when dining in. Respondents replied on this: ambiance (41.54%), service (21.97%), music (14%), lighting (4.95%), and overall hygiene (4.77%). Additionally, when asked which brand delivered a positive in-store experience overall, 52.95% said Pizza Hut, whereas 22.56% said Domino’s, and 15.29% said both. 4.53% however, say neither.

Next, the survey asks what respondents consider the most when using pizza delivery. Half of the respondents (50.83%) say the timeliness of order, 23.28% say accuracy or order, and 16% say overall food quality. Following that, 5.42% consider customer service and 4% consider the attitude of the delivery driver.

Respondents’ Reactions to Late Deliveries and Wrong Orders

The survey then asks what respondents would do with late or wrong deliveries. 49.85% would request discounts or vouchers for the next order, and 19.48% will ask for free food or drink. 9.65% would cancel the order and get a refund, 8.58% would complain to customer service, and 6.26% would leave a negative review. 5.35% would refrain from using it the next time.

The survey also asks which deals respondents prefer the most when ordering pizza. 55.95% chose buy 1 get 1, and 18.02% chose 50% off the total when they spend a specific amount. Moreover, 7.51% chose to get half off any side dishes for 1 specialty pizza, and 5.11% get 2 pizzas for a certain amount. The survey also asks which brand’s pizza respondents find most tasty. 54.53% say Pizza Hut, 26.98% say Domino’s Pizza, and 12.80% say both are similar. However, 5.69% say neither is good.

The survey then asks which brand’s dish respondents find most tasty. 55.14% say Pizza Hut, 27.53% say Domino’s, and 12.43% say both are similar. 4.90% however, say neither is good. Accordingly, the survey also asks which brand has an overall good balance of taste. 54.94% say Pizza Hut, 27.95% say Domino’s, and 12.29% say both are similar. Still, 4.82% say neither is good.

Furthermore, the survey asked which brand offers a range of menus for everyone including vegetarian and gluten-free. 59.40% said Pizza Hut, 24.24% said Domino’s, and 11.70% say both are similar. 4.66% say neither is good. To add, 54.28% say Pizza Hut staff is friendly and professional, whereas, 27.24% said Domino’s. To conclude, the survey asks which brand respondents prefer the most overall. A majority of 62.39% say Pizza Hut, whereas 37.61% say Domino’s Pizza.
