Netflix show Bridgerton has spawned two exciting seasons. It highlights the culture of marriage and the lengths people go to get the most desirable person. Now, fans are eagerly anticipating Bridgerton and a third season. However, there have been reports on the show straying away from the plotline of the books. To specify, season 3 focuses on Penelope and Collins Bridgerton. Thus, fans have multiple theories and plotlines deduced. The question remains, will it surpass the audience’s expectations of season 3?

Accordingly, Real Research — the online survey app- launched a survey on Bridgerton Season 3 to determine the public’s thoughts. The survey aims to know the show’s likes, preferences, overall reception, and the audience’s expectations of season 3. Here are the results.

Highlights

  • 55.11% say ‘yes, I watched both seasons 1 and 2’.
  • 64.93% agree that the show accurately depicts the Regency Era in England.
  • 48.62% of respondents rated Bridgerton as being the best show with 5/5.

Respondents’ Awareness of Netflix Show Bridgerton

Firstly, the survey starts to ask if respondents are aware of the Netflix show Bridgerton. In response, 79.66% say yes and 20.34% say no.

Next, the survey asks whether respondents have watched both Bridgerton seasons. In reply, 55.11% say ‘yes, I watched both season 1 and 2’ while 19.12% say ‘yes, I watched season 1’. Furthermore, 20.59% say ‘no, I have watched neither season’. Lastly, 5.18% say ‘yes, I have watched season 2’.

Accordingly, the survey asks respondents which of the two seasons they liked best. In response, all 61.65% say they liked Season 1, while 24.14% liked ‘neither’. Furthermore, 14.21% liked Season 2 the best.

More Insight on Bridgerton and its  Characters

Next, the survey asks respondents about their favorite characters in the show. In response, the majority (53.28%) say ‘Simon Basset’ while 14.58% say ‘Daphne Bridgerton’. Moreover, 8.60% show likeness to ‘Anthony Bridgerton, and 7.81% chose ‘Eloise Bridgerton’. On the other hand, 7.08% chose  ‘Kate Sharma’ as their favorite character and 3.53% say ‘Penelope Featherington’

Further on, the survey asks if the respondents have read the novels on which the show was based. To this, all 71.74% say ‘yes’ while 28.26% say ‘no’. Accordingly, the survey asks if Netflix did justice to the books. In response, 58.37% believe ’yes, I love the show’, while 12.05% feel ’the show was alright compared to the books’. In contrast, 4.78% say ‘the show was nothing compared to the books’. Meanwhile, 3.64% feel that the show was better than the books.

Next, the survey asks how respondents feel about Bridgerton Season 3, focusing on Penelope  and Collin’s romance. In reply, 54.73% say ‘I feel excited, can’t wait,’ and 20.04% are neutral. Whereas 5.77% say ‘I am not as excited as I was for seasons 1 and 2’.

Verdict – Audience’s Expectations of Bridgerton Season 3

Further on, the survey asks about respondents’ views on the show portraying diversity, races, and different cultural groups. All 66.74% expressed ‘I love seeing the diversity. On the contrary, 14.69% believe it was not diverse at all. 11.99% agree that ‘it was racially diverse. I want to see other types of diversity. Moreover,6.59% feel ‘it was not diverse enough.

The survey then asks respondents if the show accurately depicts the Regency Era in England. A majority of 64.93% say yes, while 10.53% say no and 24.54% are unsure. Then the survey asks respondents to rate Bridgerton on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the best). 48.62% rated the show 5, and 12.70% rated it 4. A further 7.58% rated it 1, whereas 7.50% rated the show 3.

Lastly, the survey on the ‘audience’s expectations of Bridgerton season 3’, asks respondents if they plan to watch it. All 66.39% say ‘yes’, 23.67%a are still ‘unsure’, whereas 9.95% say ‘no’.
