Google has announced that it will label clinics and hospitals that provide abortion care services on Google maps and its other websites. Google has added this feature as a result of years of complaints filed by users in our society who face anti-abortion results when searching the word ‘abortion’. This new feature also comes at the heels of Roe v Wade, where the Supreme Court of the United States ruled against abortion laws in the US. Considerable backlash and public protests came in response to the controversial decision.

As a result, Real Research, an online survey app, launched the survey on Google Maps and Search to label clinics providing abortion care. This survey asks respondents about Google’s displaying clinics that provide abortion care services on Google maps and the company’s overall focus on supporting abortion care. Additionally, the survey wants to find out the respondents’ opinions on abortion in general.
