It’s almost time for the 94th Annual Academy Awards. The ceremony will be held on March 28, 2022. It is an honor for celebrities to be nominated each year for the coveted Academy Award titles. In addition, the 93rd Academy Awards took place during peak pandemic times. Thus, the ceremony this year is ready to make up for lost grandeur.

Accordingly, Real Research conducted a survey on the 2022 Oscar Awards. Soon after every new year, Oscar 2022 nominations become the talk of the town. Hence the survey asked about respondents’ oscar 2022 predictions of winners.

49.27% Say Paul Thomas Anderson Will Win the Oscar for ‘Best Director’

The first question on the survey on academy awards 2022 nominations asks respondents if they will be watching the Oscar Awards this year. A majority of 63.81% said ‘yes’, they will watch the whole ceremony while 20.29% said they will only watch highlights. The remaining 15.90% do not watch the Oscars.

Following this, the survey asked a question specific to Oscar nominations. In particular, respondents shared opinions on which movie will win the title of best picture. Answers are mentioned in chronological order: Belfast (38.60%), CODA (18.01%), Don’t Look Up (8.78%), Drive my Car (7.64%), and Licorice Pizza (1.26%).

Next, the survey asks who will win title of best director. The majority chose Licorice Pizza’s ‘Paul Thomas Anderson (49.27%). In addition, 19.15% chose Kenneth Branagh (Belfast), 13.48% chose Steven Spielberg (West Side Story), and 11.96% chose Jane Campion (The Power of the Dog). Lastly, 6.15% chose Ryusuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car).

Many Predict ‘Don’t Look Up’ Will Win ‘Best Original Score’

Furthermore, respondents discuss the Oscar 2022 nominations for best actress. In response,  48.63% believe Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye) will win. Meanwhile, 21.21% chose Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter) and 14.70% chose Kristen Stewart (Spencer). Lastly, 8.26% chose Penelope Cruz (Parallel Mothers) and 7.20% chose Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos).

In addition, the respondents voted for who they think will win the title of best actor. From the Oscar 2022 Nominations, 44% of the respondents chose Javier Bardem (Being the Ricardos). Similarly, 19.30 chose Will Smith (King Richard), 16.85% chose Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the Dog), and 12.67% chose Andrew Garfield (Tick, Tick … Boom!). Lastly, 7.46% chose Denzel Washington (The Tragedy of Macbeth).

Another question asked respondents to predict the winner for best original score. In response, 45.35% said Don’t Look Up, 26.01% said Dune, and 11.11% said The Power of the Dog. Adding on, 10.48% said Encanto while 7.06% say Parallel Mothers.

Likewise, another question asked respondents to predict the winner for best sound from Oscar 2022 nominations. Answers are as follows: Belfast (41.41%), Dune (27.43%), No Time to Die (14.14%), The Power of the Dog (8.96%), and West Side Story (8.05%).

Next, respondents share their opinion on who will win the title of best film editing. On this, 42.77% said Don’t Look Up (Hank Corwin) and 29.55% said Dune (Joe Walker). Moreover, 11.33% said King Richard (Pamela Martin) while 9.34% said The Power of the Dog (Peter Sciberras). Lastly, 7% said Tick, Tick … Boom! (Myron Kerstein and Andrew Weisbkum).

The next question asks respondents to predict the winner for best animated feature. In response, 45.52% chose Raya and the Last Dragon while 21.28% chose Luca. Likewise, 13.09% chose The Mitchells vs. The Machines, 11.65% chose Flee, and 8.46% chose Encanto.

Carrying on, the survey asks respondents who will win the title of best makeup and hairstyle. Here, 44.08% chose Coming 2 America while 27.07% chose Dune. Adding on, 13.63% chose Cruella, 8.23% chose House of Gucci, and 6.99% chose The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

In conclusion, the survey asks who will win the title of best visual effects. In reply, 41.04% chose Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, 29.80% chose Dune, and 11.56% chose Spider-Man: No way home. Lastly, 10.64% chose Free Guy and 6.95% chose No Time to Die.
