One of the most treasured holiday celebrated by society is Christmas. It is a festival that is deeply rooted in culture and religion. For instance, many celebrate Christmas because it is simply part of their religion. Meanwhile, others celebrate it because everyone around them including the city they live in celebrates Christmas.

Thus, Real Research launched a survey on this Christmas to see how its users tend to celebrate Christmas. For instance, do they indulge in Christmas shopping or give Christmas gifts? What about Christmas carols or Christmas movies? Here are the results.

  • 33.17% prefer listening to religious carols for Christmas.
  • 29.74% want to watch Love Actually for Christmas.
  • 10.91% want a bouquet of flowers for Christmas.

30.17% Want To Spend Christmas With Their Family

To begin, the survey asks respondents who they want to spend Christmas with. In reply, 30.17% want to spend Christmas with their family. In contrast, 29.97% prefer spending Christmas alone. Adding on, 10.10% say with friends, 7.52% say with their significant other, and 1.18% chose colleagues.

Following after, the survey asks respondents ‘which song would you like to listen to this Christmas?’. In response, 33.17% chose religious carols like Silent Night. Likewise, 17.30% chose fun carols like Jingle Bells while 6.91% chose Last Christmas by WHAM!. Similarly, 4.51% chose Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas is You.

Some Are Expecting Luxury Goods as Christmas Gifts

Next, the survey asks about what movie would they like to watch this Christmas. At the top of the list is Love Actually (29.74%). Following after are La La Land (9.13%), The Home Alone series (8.46%), About Time (8.02%), and The Harry Potter series (5.39%). In addition, 1.98% like A Christmas Carol while 1.15% chose the Frozen movies.

Additionally, the survey asks respondents what they want as their Christmas gift. In reply, 24.91% say cosmetics/perfume while 12.68% say cash/voucher, and 10.91% say a flower bouquet. Also, 9.77% want an IT device, 5.13% want a watch, and 3.14% want clothes/shoes.

Many Already Finished Their Chrismas Shopping in November

Next, the survey asks respondents where they plan to do their Christmas shopping this year. On this, 33.79% say they will shop online while 12.35% say they will shop at big malls. Adding on, 11.93% chose to shop at dedicated stores.

Meanwhile, 6.10% say they finished their Christmas shopping during the black/white Friday sales. Lastly, 3.66% say they will make the gifts themselves and 6.44% say they will not be doing any Christmas shopping this year.

Lastly, the survey concludes by asking respondents — what city can you think of when you hear ‘Christmas’? A whopping 35.72% chose New York, USA. Likewise, 11.80% chose Roveniemi, Finland, 10.92% chose London, UK, and 8.60% said they first think of their hometown.
