People are switching diets and are changing eating habits in order to preserve nature. The number of those who refuse meat and dairy products or limit their consumption is growing like never before. Experts are noticing that there are more vegans, vegetarians, and flexitarians.

Furthermore, the meteoric rise in the popularity of vegetarian dishes is increasingly affecting restaurant menus. Not limited to this, due to the demand for vegan food, fast food restaurants started to introduce vegan options as well. Vegetarians now can visit Burger King or Subway and find plenty of vegan options.

Accordingly, Real Research conducted a survey to know the public perception of fast-food restaurants, introducing vegan food. Do people consume vegan food? If yes, what type of veganism group are they part of? Furthermore, which fast-food restaurant, in their opinion, has the most varied vegan options? Let us find out through results obtained from the Real Research online survey application.

Highlights:

  • The majority, 52.35% consume vegan food.
  • 31.83% said they are part dietary vegans group (those who avoid animal products in their diet but continue to use them in other products, such as clothing and cosmetics)
  • The reason to become vegan is the fact that animals are getting extinct and it’s a way to protect and save them, says 28.84%.

In line with this, the results on the Real Research online survey application show that 15.81% of respondents consider themselves as whole-food vegans.

Furthermore, 8.69%, 2.61%, and 1.53 are parts of junk-food vegans, low-fat, raw-food vegans, and raw food vegans. Notably, almost 40% of the respondents chose the ‘None of the above’ option.
