Different people have various preferences while making a choice about their permanent home. Some people consider city life because it has better educational institutions, work opportunities, and better health care. On the other hand, some people prefer a simple noise-free life.

While village life is definitely cozier than busy city life, they both have their pros and cons. Accordingly, Real Research launched a survey on living in village vs city. In addition, this online survey app asked respondents about the pros and cons of living in a city.

50.50% People Are Living in Cities Due to Their Jobs

Real Research’s online survey app asked respondents where they live. To which, the majority (66.33%) said they live in the city. In contrast, 33.68% said they live in a village.

The next question asked why respondents choose to live in the city. In response, 50.50% said they live in the city because they work there. Meanwhile, 17.97% said they study in the city, and 14.96% said they have lived in the city their entire life. Lastly, 8.80% say they like how the city is alive 24/7 and 7.34% say the city is safe.

Similarly, the next question asks why respondents choose to live in a village. On this, 28.08% said they work in a village whereas, 20.09% said it is safe when compared to city life. Meanwhile, 15.70% say they prefer the calm and slow village lifestyle and14.88% consider village life to be more environmentally friendly. Lastly, 9.04% say they have lived in the village their entire life and 6.01% say they are running a personal farm in the village.

17.02% Think Negatively About Noise in Cities

When asked what respondents prefer for permanent living, 31.07% said they made a decision to move to a village permanently. Whereas, 11.32% are considering moving to a village in the future. Similarly, village vs city life is different for others as 31.04% said they are preparing to move to a city permanently. Meanwhile, 10.99% are looking for relocation options. In addition, 8.98% never considered moving to the city permanently.

Another question on village vs city life asked respondents about the pros of living in a city. According to 43.01%, city life has a better job market. To add on, 14.97% like that services are available 24/7 and 13.56% believe the city has better educational opportunities. Likewise, 9.20% consider city life better for its medical care and 8.11% said there are no pros to living in a city.

Similarly, respondents choose cons of living in a city. The majority (44.16%) say it has a high cost of living. When comparing village vs city life, 17.08% say cities are much noisier, 13.50% say air pollution, and 7.65% say the lack of space. Lastly, 7.08% believe there are no cons to living in a city.

30.92% Consider Joint Family as a Positive Aspect of Village Life

When asked about the pros and cons of living in a village. For the pros, 30.92% said the joint family system is the biggest one. Likewise, 18.68% said no pollution, 13.01% like the peaceful environment, and 9.85% think food is fresher in villages. Lastly, 8.35% like that villages are close to nature.

Accordingly, for cons, 33.14% think the road condition is quite poor in villages. Meanwhile, 17.18% think public transport is hopeless in villages. Adding on, 11.45% say villages offer lower salaries, 8.55% said fewer shops, and 7.69% say fewer job opportunities.

In conclusion, the survey asked respondents what they prefer when it comes to living in the village vs city. On this, 50.22% say they prefer city life for a living. In contrast, 31.24% say they prefer living in a village. This leaves 18.54% who don’t mind both.
