Social Media is widely used in this day and age. People use social media for different purposes. Some use social media for entertainment, others to stay connected. In fact, some even do so for a living. Inevitably, this increasing use of various social media platforms eventually gives way to multiple trends. In turn, these trends could determine the most popular social media in 2022.

Thus, Real Research — the online survey app launched a survey on the latest social media trends in 2022. This survey reveals what social media platforms participants use, their preferences, and their thoughts on what will be most trending in social media in 2022. Here are the results.

Majority of Participants Use Social Media

The survey asked respondents whether they use social media. Here, the majority (88.10%) responded with ‘Yes’, meaning that most of them use social media in some way. On the contrary, 11.62% said ‘No’ and do not use social media.

Following this, the survey asked respondents what social media platform they use the most. On this, 29.69% chose Twitter, 24.69% say Facebook, and 19.97% said Instagram. Furthermore, 12.31% use Youtube, whereas, 3.69% use TikTok the most. Lastly, 1.65% say Snapchat, and 1.45% use LinkedIn.

Next, the survey asked how many accounts do respondents have on a single platform. Around 37.38% say that they have only 1 account, whereas 22.65% say they have 2-3 accounts. Then, 20.56% say they have ‘none’, 10.28% say ‘more than 5’, and 9.11% say 4-5 accounts.

20.95% Reveal That Omnichannel Marketing Will Lead to More Social Media Views

The survey on the latest social media trends in 2022 also asked respondents which will lead to more views on social media posts. In response, 20.95% say that omnichannel marketing will lead to more views.

Adding on, 16.50% say live streaming, and 13.67% say SEO integration. More so, 11.56% say interconnecting social media platforms, 10.70% say social responsibility, and 4.44% say brand humanization will give more views on social media posts.

Entertainment Sector Will Gain More Popularity in 2022

Next, the survey asks which sector will gain more popularity on social media in 2022. In order, respondents chose Entertainment (29.36%), Fashion (24.90%), Finance (9.36%), Education (7.73%), and Real-Estate (7.68%). Whereas 3.76% say IT, 3.48% say medical, and 0.99% chose government.

Accordingly, the survey asked respondents what will be the most trending in social media in 2022. To this, 21.39% of respondents say stories, 18.67% say reels, 16.77% say games, and 10.53% say social media shopping. Adding on, 6.09% say interactive posts, 5.18% say anything from influencers, 3.26% say live streaming, and 2.42% say anything from celebrities.

Finally, the survey asked what respondents think would be the most fun to see via live stream. In response, 26.05% say live concerts, 21.01% say live events, and 12.39% say interviews of celebrities and influencers. Lastly, 9.13% say live screenings, 7.05% say new product launches, 3.33% say corporate Q&As, 2.60% say historic events, and 1.55% say grand openings.
