Last year was a not-so-fun kind of trip for all of us. In fact, the COVID-19 pandemic has meant that many of us have to postpone or even cancel our travel plans. However, the reality is that none of us can really know what to expect while the pandemic is being dealt with. Still, we can and should still plan to travel in 2022.

Likewise, with the world slowly reopening after the coronavirus pandemic, many people have travel destinations in mind. The hope is that in 2022 we can meet our families and loved ones to catch up after being separated for such a long time.

Meanwhile, Lonely Planet — a well-known Australian travel guide book publisher, released its list of ‘The 10 Best Destinations to Travel in 2022’. To name the destinations, those are Cook Islands, Norway, Malawi, Belize, Slovenia, Anguilla, Oman, Nepal, Mauritius, and Egypt. That is to say, the COVID-19 situations worldwide are getting better.

Likewise, more people are starting to plan their next vacation in the coming year. Thus, Real Research published a survey to see if people are excited about the top travel destination for 2022. Here are the results.

67.86% of the Respondents Enjoy Traveling

Survey results reveal, 67.86% of the respondents are likely to travel. However, 19.35% are not interested in travel while 12.79% are travelling occasionally. In addition to the respondents likely to travel, 24.17% prefer to travel weekly, 14.44% are travelling monthly, and 9.45% prefer to travel yearly.

Those Looking To Travel Prefer Scenic Destinations

On the other hand, every traveler has their favorite spot to go to, that’s why Real Research also asked the preferred scenery of travelers. As a result, 29.87% of the respondents prefer beach and island vibes. In addition to the beach and island vibes, 19.97% prefer to visit Fiji over the Maldives who got only 13.87% votes.

Moreover, 15.10% are likely to travel for the natural and green scenery. In fact, 25.97% of the respondents prefer to travel to New Zealand for natural and green views. While 9.59% are likely to visit Australia. At the same time, 7.35% love to explore the world heritage and historic places. Likewise, Rome, Italy is the most picked when it comes to heritage and historic sites (30.84%).

Additionally, 5.47% want to explore mountainous regions. Among the respondents, they prefer to visit the USA with 23.67% votes over Switzerland with 10.13% votes. Furthermore, 2.76% of the respondents want to experience the best winter vacations with snow. Hence, Sweden is the top choice on snowscape by travelers with 21.41% votes, followed by Finland with 5.99% votes for the snowscape travel destinations.

Most Respondents Prefer To Travel With Their Significant Other

Meanwhile, most of the travelers prefer to travel with their spouse, actually, 29.32% are likely to travel with their spouse or travel as a couple. More so, 18.89% are looking forward to traveling with friends and having new experiences.

Now that ‘Lonely Planet’ has revealed the top travel destination for 2022, 62.12% of the respondents prefer to visit these destinations. In addition, Cook Island is the highest pick for respondent visits (23.06%). Following next is Norway with 13.58% votes.

It’s no secret that every country has a different culture. Accordingly, 45.82% of the respondents believe that traveling is a necessary way to open minds and understand cross-country cultures. Although, some respondents believe that there is another way to offer the same understanding of cross-border culture. In fact, 29.53% believe that working in a multinational company can help in understanding other cultures.

To sum up, most travelers are always hoping for a clue on where the best place or destination is to go on vacation. All in all, according to the Real Research survey result, the Lonely Planet’s ‘Best in Travel 2022’ is really helpful for those who are looking for ideas on the topic.
